Emaxx Durability?

Hey guys, as you may know im thinking about getting an emaxx. I already have a savage and I know that thing is durable. But wanted a 4wd electric mt. On a scale of 1 to 10, how tough are they? I plan on jumping mine.

1 being they suck at jumping and break TONS

10 being indestructable.

Thanks
-Pat

I broke the rear bulkheads while doing 6 ft jumps and landed all wrong.

i dont give a crap what anyone says, E-Maxxes are very tough trucks. i really dont understand why many people run their 10 pound electric truck into a curb(pole, mailbox, etc) at full-speed, then say theyre weak after it doesnt look exactly like it did before.

if you are going to jump your E-Maxx, you should have a couple spare rear body posts. the truck loves to nose over if you dont say on the throttle, and the resulting frontflip/cartwheels can snap a post. but more often than not, the body clips will tear through your body, and could deform themselves, making them a pain to remove.

Yeah I won't say the emaxx is weak, but some upgrades like aluminium bulkheads definitely enhances its durability.

if it uses the same plastic as the tmaxx then i would say 4 for durability but for jumping i would give it a 10

also it is the only half decent eletric monster truck so your choices are limited

Because if you play hard and don't have a good place to bash. You hit stuff. So you got that into.Just like no matter how good your ramp is if you ain't got a good place to put it you get bad landings. Now if we all had great ramps and tracks there would be less brakage(less racing too probly?)So you rate'um as you running,um!Plus a 4 on the guy's(?) scale is not really that bad for a stock Maxx.

Right. I don't ever hit stuff. I do turf landings from big air on a fairly regular basis, but I never hit things.

As for a stock E-Maxx...umm...that depends. If you're a good driver and can land jumps and avoid curbs (it's not that hard really), I'd say it's about an 8. If you jump it a lot, you'll blow the shocks once in a while. If you hit curbs and land jumps upside down, you're going to break stuff, but if you can avoid that, you won't really have problems. The Maxx will shrug off most decent hits. It's not a Savage by any means, but if you drive cleanly (despite what many people think, it is possible to bash hard and drive clean at the same time), you won't have problems.

That's personal preference. I have both trucks...and they're both solid, but if the E-Maxxes shocks are rated at a 5, the E-Zilla's are rated at a -5. They're smooth, but they're weak. My E-Zilla hasn't moved in a month and a half because I haven't gotten around to buy Savage shocks to replace the 3 broken shocks it has. It's a joke.

stock about a 4 or 5. i used to break bulkheads and skids but not anymore thanks to some aluminum upgrades. they can do some pretty strong stuff if you land them correctly

with my previous e-maxx, the only thing that I change are those plastic half shafts (most especially the rear pair). They twist from those wheelie action stunts, lol.

My E-maxx is still stock. The only thing that has happened to it is 1 broken rear axle shaft due to landing on throttle, the screws for the front bumper mount where it screws to the bulk head bend if you land on the front bumper instead of the wheels, and I have fried a few EVXs (I was told sand got inside it). My E-maxx has made several cart wheels across from front yard and ran at a couple of tracks with no other problems. Like Serpentking101 said, you have to stay on the throttle to keep the front from diving in the air, then let off just before touch down. Oh, and get a wheelie bar on it. Your rear bumper and lid will thank you.

no, 10 mins is actually pretty good. do you see many racers running 10 mins+ races?
go to your lhs and ask for them to order you megatech 2400 nimh packs. they are purple stick packs, but they gave me a ton of runtime. i shorted them out a while ago and tossed them, but before they shorted, they were giving me 15-20 mins id say. remember- this isn't nitro
