I'm impressed! My only concern is how solid is the head to prevent it from rotating when your wrenching on the truck? How easy is it to secure it?

A hex-head screw is used to lock the "head" from rotating and Sawtooth RC even includes an Allen key to adjust the screw.

I took some measurements for you guys...the jaws measure 60mm when fully tightened and can be safely opened to about 80mm.

I also threw it on the scale. It weighs 1 lb. 13 oz.

It would look perfect with a nice shelf queen, but I am a little concerned about the tripod setup. With the COG located near the top, what is to prevent it from "two-legging" when accidentally knocked/pushed?

I would also like to know the weight.

I don't see the stand "two-legging" because the legs are long enough to counteract the high CG. You would have to really hit the truck hard to get the stand to tip over.

Looks nice, but I dunno, looks a little high for me, seems like it may be awkward to work with...
I normally prop my cars up when working on them, but not high, I usually just use 2 rolls of ducktape or something (yep, Im defintaley one for high-tech solutions... )

Also, about the tup over, maybe put some more weight at the bottom, to help stabilise it?

Is something a little shorter with wider jaws going to be available to say touring cars/oval cars?

Physics tells me that since the truck is linger than the length of the legs that the force it would take to tip it over, due to leverage, wouldn't be that much. However, in most cases I can see there not being a problem with it but we all know how hussle and bussle is inth pits..

We designed it that tall so that when you put the truck at the most extreme angle, even with the tires on, it would not touch the surface the stand was sitting on.

The total support diameter of the legs is 16.5 inches.
