you will need:
-good glow ignter (dont skimp or starting can be frustrating)
-spare glow plugs
-fuel tubing
-fuel filter (optional, but highly suggested)
-after run oil
-some nitro cleaner
-patience
-and the willingness to learn tuning

those are just a few things you will need for nitro engines, once you get allt he little things its nice, but i dont know about the vehicle

They come tuned for breakin (or should) from the factory. After the breakin is complete, it would probably be running too lean. From that point on, you have to tune the engine. The included manual should tell you just about everything you need to know.

TC4racer, no nitro can be preset at one setting and work well all the time like a car engine, they are extremely tempermental to even miniscule changes when they are under 3cc's, most of the instructions on the engine that come with the manual are crap, or very little help, do a search on tuning, there are countless threads on it, but whats most helpful to know is you want crisp, clean throttle response, and a good trail of smoke

Bought my son one two years ago, great buggy. Easy to tune, runs consistent, very durable. The first thing it definately needs is a good steering servo, the one it comes with is very weak( will definately blow with the slightesty impact), definately add the fuel filter. I use Mccoy plugs on it, #59 when cool out and #8 when hot out.
Eventually you will want to upgrade the radio as with all RTR. The only thing I have changed on it are the rear differential gears twice, not bad considering there are atleast 8 gallons of gas through it. You will need a hump pack fot the receiver, the Ofna one is great, has extra juice. You can get a combo tx/rx overnite charger for the radio and the receiver pack for about 15 bucks. If you want a good charger you can get the Charge It All Sport by Wattage. You can actually use the glow plug ignitor included with the buggy, but I prefer the rechargable ones. Go with an Ofna failsafe also. ENJOY.

Forgot, so you do not have to constantly open the radio box get a new switch that has an extra charging lead.

so how long do the glow plugs last and how do you know when to replace them? and, what kind of air filter oil do you use and how often do you lubricate the air filter?

there is no set life for a glow plug, too many things determine it and once in a while you can just get a bad plug, you replace them when either its broken are not glowing brightly on each coil

there are a bunch fo thigns you can use for air filter oil, there is some rc filter oil you can but but it is really over priced, you can use ATF (automatic transmission fluid) or i use some hona motorcycle oil that dries super tacky and doesnt run to the bottom, and depending on the size of the filter, you should clean ti after each day of running (unless you have those tiny little filters, then do it every 3-5 tanks)

If you can, visit a hobby shop and have them show you around a nitro powered vehicle.

Well, usually, if you're car doesn't wanna start, one of the first things you would do is take out the glow plug and stick it in the ignitor, and if it works it will light up properly, throughout the whole coil.
