Looks like it's running pretty wet in that second pic. Might want to play with the COG. For a boat that small you could probably put a 48mm CF prop on that thing with no problem.

as newjerseyjoe said, a Jeti ESC will be great. i have the Jeti 600 in my LSH boat and i love it. it was 85 degrees outside, and after 7 laps my controller was only 99degrees! i know of at least one brand that gets A LOT hotter than that (other boats of similar setup had 20-30degree hotter temps than mine)...but for some reason people keep using them. it is also smaller and lighter than most other ESC's.

I am finding 700's like an x642 with 14 cells.

a couple of ideas for ya...i'd start by losing the tamiya connectors. they don't like to have a lot of amps pulled through them. i would suggest you switch to deans or BK type connectors. you can shed a little weight by getting a different rx battery pack. look at cheapbatterypacks.com. you can get some kan350's, they are smaller and lighter, and best of all rechargeable (a 5 cell pack would be best). they are also cheap enough that you can get 2 or 3 packs, that way while you can run while you charge the spares.

how big is the boat and how many cells are you running? are you running a flex drive or straight shaft (flex i hope). once we know that, we can start pointing you towards the right props.

Well a 8XL with a y535 prop looks quick on 12 cells.
But a 6XL on 12, what prop is in that photo ?

Hi - a few pics of my triton.
Just installed the new motor - went out to test it yesterday and the watercooled esc had a leak somewhere inside it and fryed the circuitry
Anyways got it replaced - hopefully will run it again soon to see how it goes.
looking to run it with two 7.2v powerpacks in series - reckon i might have to put the trimtabs back on? we'll see.

Well i ran the old boat and she went fine, trim tabs needed to be on as she sat up too much in the water - still does a bit.
I'll be adjusting the height of the prop etc to try and get it more level when on the water.
Goes pretty well actually with a good turn of speed and decent cornering.
just thought i'd let you guys know
thanks
