LowRider?

Ive been playing around with the idea of a lowrider. i was thinking i could use square tube steel and make a c notch in the rear and use tlt axles. I would also 4 link the rear. the only problem i see is i dont know what to use for air bags. i want to be able to dance the truck. ideas?

Check out the low rider in the trailer for the new xxx Main Racing dvd. In the thread on this, some one asks about air bags, and I think he says they used servos. Check it out, I thought it might help with your questions.

Bags pose a interesting problem. They need air, and lots of it if they are going to continuously operate. If you want to include an onboard air system, you can convert a nitro motor to do what you are wanting and drive it with an electric motor. I have an old Hadley compressor that is exactly that. It still has a big storage tank for the compressed air and with all three of these components, you would only be able to fit them on 1/5th scale vehicles. You could look at CO2 tanks but you still need to work out the valving and bags. I think you would be better off using servos as suggested, but who knows... maybe you will surprise us all. Post pics if you do a project.

alright im gonna use 3 servos to bounce it but i dont know how to do it. ill need two in the front to control left and right and one in the back to raise and lower the rear axle idk how to connect them tho so they bounce

Legend, what you should do is look at the new XXXMain THRE3 video. The've got a new lowrider in there and it hydro's in at least three different places in the video.

To get your vehicle to bounce, think about trying to get Revo cantilevers mounted to shock towers at the pivot and connect your servos to one end and the shocks to the other. This will allow you to still have suspension and then you can tune the bounce with your springs.

this bouncin thing is sounding hard so i might just slam it so it looks low and not have it bounce.

If you want to make it look like a rice burner, you could put just the springs and not any oil and it would bounce all over the place like the real ones do just going down the road!!!

the only servos fast enough to make a car bounce are robot servos... but you'll have to think of some REALLY creative ways to make a heavy 1/10 scale car do it... raising/lowering, and three-wheel motion are probably the extent of what you can do with these

I mainly build lowrider models in scales ranging from 1/64 to 1/8.
I build this 1/12 '64 Impala lowrider 3 years ago and I'm working on it ever since.
Recently I added theme and new paintjob to the car along with fender skirts and a bumperkit that's still not finished.

This lowrider does basically all the tricks a real lowrider can do including hopping the front of the car hittin' back bumper.
Here's a video clip of this ride before it's new paintjob shot in Japan during the lowrider show and on the streets of kyoto.

Hey GT FREAK....that is my Escalade. It was a pain to do, but i dont have that truck anymore. I was able to make a better truck and it performs alot better. What the Escalade suspension was.......it basically pivoted in the middle and then the front and rear ends would swing down kinda like a swing arm suspension. If you want to see more of my stuff, go onto YOUTUBE and in the search line type in WOLFANGEL37......that will bring up all 4 of my videos. And would you beleive....i got that much lift out of a TC3 front suspension.......just narrowed the arms a bit to fit under the body.
