Thats pretty cool. I almost bought a Stadium Blitzer, which is the same basic truck as the Stadium Thunder, many moons ago. Wound up getting a Traxxas Hawk though.

ha...I've been looking at that for a while. Good price for it. Had all three of the Blitzers back in the day, but never this one - good, tough dependable chassis.

Fester, I've been meaning to ask... why did you buy that? JK
I have had more unopened Tamiya stuff than I can shake a stick at (I'm not a real good stick shaker though). Really though. I would like the time to build stuff but I feel bad running it afterwards.

Build it, fit modern electronics, and see what it can do!

iv got an electric version of the sandmaster with the baja bug body. been wanting to restore it and get it running for a good 6 years now. just don't have the spare change laying around to do it.
was going to hop it up a bit with bearings, foam in the tires and universal drive shafts (if i can find a set that fit). but i was going to leave the silver can 540 motor and 3 speed MSC in it (because the gear box sucks)

Didnt know they where made electric aswell
Mine is nitro, well self explanatory i guess, but the motor is junk.
A GS11X i gave up on it i just cant get it to idle let alone run..
And now i found a good brushed 600 motor with esc so why not..

there were a few models of that chassis. i was brain farting yesterday on the name of the electric, then today i remembered it was the outrage. there was a buggy and stadium truck version and im thinking also a monster truck version. then they threw a baja bug body on it and called it a "stadium baja" which is the kit iv got. im thinking there were a few different models of the nitro version as well but i can't remember what they were.
is the front shock tower on yours about as ridged as a rubber band to? that was one of the things i hated about that thing. shock towers did more to absorb bumps than the shocks did. then there was the lack of a slipper clutch. the diff sucked, outdrives kept coming loose and popping off until i finally got pissed and super glued them on. the material the chassis was made of was really brittle and because the shocks sucked i tore the hell out of the back of the chassis (actually broke one). im starting to have second thoughts about restoring this thing....

I have litterally not driven the thing more 100feet before i fugged up and tryed to undertake a rock..
It was my first real R/C so i was taken by surprice by the speed it it managed it that short run..
I was 14 and i had spent every cent i had on it, used..
My older brother helped me start it and to be honnest the noise scared the hell out of me.
I had never been even close to a nitro before..
My brother let i idle tinkered with the carb and put it on the road.
Then he put the remote in my hand and the rest is history..
Broke the front bumper and thought i had smashed the clutch, AFTER getting a new one i realized it had just moved in the engine mount..
Before really getting it fixed winter came and i got a Tamiya TA02 kit and since i´ve been an elektric guy.
Jup, the front tower is flexing like a first year stripper, havint run it enough to know the rest
And i didnt know about lexan paint at the time eighter :P
