EK4's Mother.

Bill at RC Alloys is making that one. That's an O.S. 1.60 Twin-cylinder 4-stroke.

Kinda makes a .70 seem like childs play, doesn't it?

There are more pics and info here.

Thought I'd share.

I believe a 70 2 stroke and a 1.60 4 stroke have about the same power. the four stroke power band is on the low end and the 2 stroke on the high end

I'm pretty sure there will be more aluminum added once he finishes the drivetrain.

In monster trucks, torque is key. I think the 1.60 will have gobs more torque than a .70 or .90.

*edit* Man I can't type...Grrr

"mother"..."child's play"
Well yea, those terms do seem to fit.
Because you'll have to be "nursing" those sorry T-Maxx diffs so they won't give out.

And yes, it is all about gearing.

I would be willing to bet that the guy making this thing know that he is going to have to beef up everything on this truck and probably just used this stuff for photo purposes (I atleast hope so )

Guys, from the looks of it, this is not an Ek-4 with Maxx parts, it's a Maxx with EK-4 parts. I think you were just confused with the title, "EK4's Mother."

Mother Thumper

I assure you there's no EK-4 parts on that truck. He wants it to hold up hehe.

This truck was started long before the EK-4 was out.

Love that starter shaft and it's built-in retracting pinion. Very thoughtful. Looks like excellent work.

Bill made all of the aluminum parts you see. The wheels and tires are from the Tamiya Juggernaut, so that woud explain the vauge resemblance to an EK-4.

It's all T-Maxx except for the wheels/tires and the obvious aluminum. The bumpers and suspension assemblies are all Maxx parts.

what im wondering is, what is thi guy on??? first off that way too much torque, heck a .70 is too much torque. next how many pounds of crack did he smoke when he decided to use a tmaxx for his design?? its tranny cant even hold a weaker .21, how does he expect to make it hold that behemoth??? even with steel tranny gears, hes gonna over work the car and grind gears.

It doesn't have a tmaxx tranny if you look. It looks like it has a big (48 pitch?) spur gear, and a thick steel disk brake. Probably custom made from what i've seen!!

when he started work on it the only other nitro mt around was the usa-1 and the mp. the mp really wouldnt work for a twin cylinder like that one. and the t maxxes suspention is a great addition i cant wait to see it run at thunder. the thing should be nuts!

the MP could work if it had a different tranny...or if the person want a big engine hanging out ofthe truck heeh. but thats about it, personally i think the Maxx suspension wouldnt make any difference, too much torquei too much torque

Andrew, where do you see a T-Maxx tranny? Saying that a Monster Pirate would work if it had a different tranny is like saying a TC3 would work if it had a different tranny.

I think the tranny he's using will hold up just fine. I'm just curious to see how he plans on keeping the tires on.
