Speed Questions ??

OK,
This may have been posted but I dont feel like searching through 15 pages to look for it so bare w/me. I just wanted to know the top speeds of 2 stadium trucks:
First:The duratrax nitro evader

Second:The Team Associated GT w/the factory .15

Ive been lookin at buggy's, st's, mt's pretty much everything and still dont know what to get. Im not gonna race so I dont wanna have bunch of people telling me to get the GT since its a better racer, etc. Just lookin for a good rtr basher. Hopefully the top speeds will direct me towards what rc I want to get. I want something that will beat my friends stock HPI Nitro RS4 3
Thanx

The rc10 gt rtr will go about 40 stock. Ive geared mine to go faster, but did not radar it. It was movin pretty fast though. I have heard that the evader is slightly faster than the gt and xxxnt but i'm not positive. The 2.5 rustler is supposed to do close to 50 right out of the box.

simple, get an HPI Nitro RS4 3 and hop it up! That usually beat stock =) If I were buying a 1/10 scale truck, then my only choice would be a Rustler. Flat out, that thing flies. Second would be an RC10GT. Duratrax makes great bashing vehicles, but parts are usually mail order and wait a week. The Rustler and GT are stocked at most shops, so repairs are fast.

Thanx,
my lhs stocks duratrax parts so thats not much of a worry. DONT want the Rustler since the 2.5 engine is supposed to be a PAIN to tune and since im a newbie to nitro I want to drive the car more than tuning the engine. Im pretty much just gonna bash and do parking lot drags, etc so I dont really care that GT handles better and all. I might race but its doubtful. Unless we find a vacant lot for a field. Thanx for your help.
(If I get the Evader im gonna stock up on metal and carbon goodies so stuff wont break )

Speed wise they should be pretty much the same since they both run the same class of engine. There really isn't much difference in speed between vehicles of the same class with similar engines. The same power with the same gearing is going to give you the same speed in either truck with very minor variences due to differences in weight. The trucks that will be faster are those that are running engines that are way outside of race legal such as the 2.5 in the Rustler and the .21 in the Schumacher. But of the 2 trucks you mentioned the GT is the more durable of the 2 and the better handling of the 2. But for racing it against your buddies RS4 3...well pretty much the RS4 is going to beat you. On-road cars are built specifically for on-road and thus are geared for more higher speeds as they don't have to worry about getting traction on the dirt, climbing terrain changes, jumps, bumps and what not. Trucks on the other hand are geared more for low end acceleration so they can cope with all I mentioned and have the torque to turn a larger, heavier tire.

that's part of the fun, running people over, doing about 5-10 cartwheels with the car, going about 30mph in the grass/gravel, even pavement looks all nice and fun.. and you have to always remember part of the fun of nitro r/c cars is rebuilding them when they break, and you know they will.

My P-Ball gun can do the trick

Did i mention it can shoot 13 balls a second when its on auto? And if you can pull the trigger fast enough (like i can) you can hit around 17 per second with my loader.

Its up for sale too

If you wanna bash hard and have more speed than necessary get the rustler with the trx2.5. I own the car and can tell you first hand that the engine is not a pain at all to tune as long as you follow the instructions in the manual. Its my first nitro car and I was worried that i would have too many problems because people say its a bad engine but it truly is amazing. I think alot of people say the trx2.5 is full of problems because they just say what they hear and probably never saw the engine run in person before. Personally i think they are all scared of it because it will kill pretty much any other rtr st. my rustler2.5 easily keeps up and even squeaks by my friend with the ofna that has a .25 big block in it. I really would suggest the nitro rustler because its got great speed and reliability and its also really tough so you can bite it on jumps and still not break anything.
