stuffing tube question

do i need to use a brass stuffing tube going through the hull if there is a plastic tube that already surrounds the flex shaft.

Plastic? Does it have a liner of some kind? Also, what kind of plastic is it? I would think it would be too weak, but there might be some way that it would work.

does teflon look like a plastic cuz the webpage i got it off of says its a teflon liner

If it has a Teflon liner then it is fine (Teflon looks like plastic, but should feel really smooth)

Yes, it's a liner. It is made to go inside a brass or stainless tubing.

If it really is just the liner, then you do need a brass or SS tube for support.

It should cover the whole liner- from just after the engine to the back of the hull
