looking to scratch build

I am looking to build a 45+ inch mono from scratch and need a little advice. I've been thinking about it and doing some research for 2 months or so and have settled on;
-surface drive
-dual rudders (mabye)
-zenoah g231 engine
-tuned pipe
I also need to know what type and thickness of ply wood for the hull, i'm thinking 1/8" for the deck and hull, and 1/4" for the bulkheads. Prop size and pitch info is needed also.
I was thinking 1/4" drive cables, i am undecided on a drive, but i'm leaning twoads an spd 3 drive. I'm kind of pressed on funds so i was also thinking of an xp drive system.
For the hull, i need to know the angle of the transom, and if possible a ratio for length and beam, or just a few dimensions.
Please give me some advice because I want to start out right.
