380 to 540 motor plate adaptors

A friend and I plan to run our 12L's in our driveway with mini racing cones for practice. We need to slow these cars down in order to run them in the driveways. (380 motors will also increase the run times and reduce the noise to keep the neighbors happier.)

We both have the old Tamiya Grasshopper 380 motor adaptor plate but they are getting old and starting to crack. We need a replacement. Does anyone know of any available motor adaptors so we can use a 380 sized motor in place of a 540? Thanks.

I don't know anybody that makes a specific plate, but if you have the tools, a company called K&S makes sheets of aluminum, brass, copper, and tin. You should be able to make something out of that if nothing else.
Otherwise, a standard mabuchi 540 from Tamiya and 4-cell packs will slow them down nicely also. They'll probably be faster than your 380 setup, but it'll be better than 6 cells and competition stock motors.

I don't have the machining tools to make the adaptor plate. I'm really surprised that this isn't commonly available. It would seem a small plate like this would be very useful in many different applications. A standard mabuchi 540 is still too fast. A 380 will be better.
