Buying off Ebay info

I have a few questions about buying off of Ebay. I have had pretty good luck with my purchases, so it doesnt make me nervous to buy off of Ebay.

Heres the situation, I am looking at a couple of RC cars BUT and with a big BUT, they are from China and do not accept PayPal. They seem to be very inexpensive to, cars that sell for up to $4K are selling for $3-400. Something seems fishy.
They also say I will get it in 2 days (from China in 2 days, thats fast). The Auctions also started with a "Buy Now" price and when I returned to it, the "Buy Now" price was gone.
They also dont have much feedback, its all posotive but not enough.
Maybe I answered my own questions, I am just looking for others opinions on this. Does it seem safe to deal with them or would it be in my best interest to pass.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sometimes, if a seller starts with both bids and Buy it Now, as soon as they get a bid, the buy it Now option goes away. I have had that happen several times when I have been selling items.
As far as the seller not accepting PayPal, I'd be cautious. PayPal is a protection for you and the seller both. I just completed a claim where the seller misrepresented the item, and it was not what I was led to believe. The seller refused to make good, so by filing a claim with PayPal, PayPal guarentees me a refund, and they will now deal with the seller. For small dollar amounts, it might not be a big deal, but to me, anything over $25 or so, I want the protection that PayPal offers.

Gatcha on the "Buy Now" option.
I am very sceptical about buying from him. I e-mailed him and asked him where it would be sent from, where I should send payment info to, how much it would cost for shipping(which he said $10, from China, yeah ok). In return he sent me all of his bank info and address. It just seems fishy to me.
I am passing on this even though I am very tempted. Too much money involved to risk losing with no protection or security.
Thanks

Tig don't make us hunt it down, provide a link. If someone steals your auction, there will be another one right behind it.

Not accepting paypal just means they don't have access to create a paypal account. I'm not saying they are not shady, there are many shady offshore sellers - so go with your gut feeling.

I've bought a few items from China. One guy had his account pulled right in the middle of an auction, after I had already paid him. Even so he emailed me immediately and sent the stuff right away. So it's just like anything else, there are good and bad people everywhere.

That, or click in the address bar, make sure the full address is highlighted, press CTRL-C or select Edit->copy, then come here and in the reply field and press CTRL-C or Edit-> paste.

An HPI? Wow let's see.

Edit:

One of these?

Or these?

Donno, they all look like they're going for 1K + $25 shipping, there are some for sale in the US if China worries you.

Wher in the heck can you run one of those without the entire community coming down on your butt . . . . would still love to have one . . .

Gatcha, I'll give it a try.
Its not either of them but its the same car, lol.
This guy is telling me to send him $350 and I will get it in 2-3 days.
I am still a little sceptical(spell check), he sent me all of his info.
I dunno what to do. I think I may add another 1/8 on-road car to my collection instead. I have a few off-roaders. AAAAARRRRRGGG this is agrivating.
I dont now what to do, I have to go think.

Tig, If you can get a 5B for what you say, give us the link!! I just searched eBay and couldn't find one for less than $969 "Buy it Now". At least let us know who the seller is and maybe you can point some business in his direction! Thanks.

Rich

Don't do it. There's no way you can get a Baja 5B in China for $350 when they sell for almost a G-note here. I'm certain you're about to get hosed.
