Feigao 540C's durability

Had an accident with my Savage yesterday, the motors in peices - the endbell where the shaft exits the can was almost ripped off, the rotor made a bit of a mess of the windings, and my motor mount twisted slightly. Needs a new motor.

I was wondering if the motor falling apart so easy is a common thing or not. Everything was perfectly fine except the motor, the truck went into a garage door sideways at ~30mph (hint: don't let mates drive your truck ). I was thinking of going back to a smooth can with an Rc-Monster clamp, if that might be a bit stronger.

Those motors really need to be clamped together to keep from coming apart. I run the smooth can with Monster heatsink/clamp.

from what i have read and know the feigoa c range of motors are somewhat emulating the hacker c range in the abilty for the end caps to be screwed off. The problem is that the thread on the cap and motor needs to be a good fit for these design to work well.
The feigao machined threads were anything but precicelly machined and thus the thread does not hold the end cap on especially when the mounting screws can hit the motor can when they are too long it can force the end bell to pop off.

there is really no need for both ends to come off on the fegao motors and therefore I would affix the end that's mounted using some sort of epoxy resin as this end it under much more strain than the back i would expect the back to not some off unless something hits the shaft.

I suggest getting rid of the rear set screw and threadlocking the end cap. If the front comes lose, seal it up permanently. I have discussed it several times with Feagao. Current motors in stock are supposed to be "improved" according to Feigao.
