Question 64" Bonzi Fountain torque roll correction

I bought this boat 2 years ago and it handled fine with mild torque steer, now something has changed, the boat now pulls hard to the right and leans badly to the right.I've tried trimming the prop up and down and also trimming the right trim tab down with the left trim tab in the neutral position, not much difference. I did notice the rudder which is directly behind the prop has some play in it, when I brought it home I tightened it and was able to get most of the play out. Would the play in the rudder create this uncontrolable situation or could there be another problem. My buddy bought the same identical boat with no handling problems.
