Originally I used a black pearl for the stacked skulls to give it a softer "ghosted feel", and it washed out when backed with white. So, with great nervousness and care, I had to strip that area with brake fluid and redo it with the black backed in white that I knew wouldn't wash out.
Really should have tested first and I wouldn't have had to redo it, but I was in the groove feeling good, and spent a good week trying to decide whether I was going to just leave it or try to bring back my original intent.
