I need shocks...

My 2wd Stampede has gained some weight over the years....aluminum, 3s...

The Traxxas "Big Bores" arent cutting it anymore. I was going to put 1/8 shocks on it. Problem is they are too long. I need 100mm for the rear and 80mm for the front on the Pede. Nearly every 1/8 buggy front shocks are about 100mm, that would work for the rear of the Pede, but I want a matching set.

So what 1/10 vehicle has nice big bore shocks I can put on my Pede. Preferably, having multiple spring options too.

So far Ive checked Losi, Pro-Line, Associated. They dont have what Im looking for..

How do the big bores not work? With heavier springs and shock oil changes, they should be able to handle pretty much anything.

Only set I can think of that may work w/no mods are the new Losi RLT22 shocks. Nice and meaty.

Rvo/Jato shocks are nice as well, though they are a bit short for the rear. You'd have to use the inner holes and go with revo springs in the back while jato springs work well in the front. Running this combo on my Slash and it's very nice.

3Racing makes a nice set for the CR01, I use them all over the place. They handle my CR, WK, and TXT no problem - should be cake for your pede. Have 4 sets and no problems at all - smooth and leak free. Usually find them for $21-$25 or so on the bay - great deal. Only thing is they may be a bit long for the front...I have no idea how short they are at full compression, but I can get a measurement for you if needed.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing... Unless you're tearing the rod ends off and bending TiNi shafts, the Traxxas shocks with the right springs and preload should be good to go... Heck, I was using plastic shocks on 12-cell NiMH setup (equivalent in mass to a 5-6s lipo now) with a fair amount of jumping a huge ramp and never even killed a plastic shock. I can't even fathom what you're doing to kill the big bores... LOL

If you do just need something stouter, you might also look at the Losi TEN SCT-E or the Associated SC10 4x4 shocks... Both will be far better quality than 99% of aftermarket shocks and parts will be easy to find at the local shop in 2 years when you bend a shaft or they actually do need o-rings or any kind of maintenance.

The Hyper SC10 Pro will work just fine for that application. Threaded aluminum shocks

I'm not positive but I think that your in the ball park, as far as the mm size. They are

also very reasonable priced. I hope this will help you out. I will look up specs on shocks

and get back to you shortly. PAUL
