Well, good to hear that you guys were having fun............like you, I am not taking any chance now (I remember you told me your son's B-day is the same date as mine's due date, the 18th, right...?) I really want to race but family come first......so, I think I will be done for at least 2 months or so....once the baby settled down, I will be back.
For me, I need a speed controller as well (mine is way old and I believed the AMPS of the ESC just cannot keep up with the new one)....so I am asking Albert to quote me the Quantum Comp 2 (not 1) and the GT7 (Novak)......if you are interested to know how much, let me know.

Your baby is less than a month away, so that really means 'any minute now.' Heck, if your baby came out on the same schedule as mine did, she would have been born 2 weeks ago, and we had no warning that the baby would come early. I'm glad I wasn't off racing when that happened.
Tony, Frank and I all had a good time though. Tony won his heat of the 19 turn sedan class. Frank ran his new (used, but new to him) sedan in the rubber tire/stock motor class, where he TQ'ed and won, and I managed a TQ and win in 1/12th scale in typical 'Walt' fashion, with a car that was clearly slower than Frank's car, but I was more consistent, and consistency won yesterday (but not by much). Frank qualified 2nd and placed 2nd, and we were both a lap or two over 3rd place.
I was AMAZED that Frank could switch back and forth between a rubber tire stock motor touring car (like driving a school bus on ice) and the 19 turn 1/12th scale car (like a bat out of you know where) so well. That has got to be tough. 13 second laps with the touring car, and then he pulled off a 10.8 with the 1/12th scale car (best I could do all day was 11.0 I think, maybe 11.1). Looks like I've got to find some more speed in my car... I'll work on it. Fun racing yesterday.
Oh, but my ESC did shut down AGAIN, so that thing is heading back to Germany for repairs. Piece of junk. Cost me the first qualifier (luckily not the main).

THANKS WALT GOOD RACE YESTERDAY sorry caps on it was a good time for all. i think i need a bit more time with the new settings and my consistency will improve. i made the first mistake in the first few laps becuase i just wasnt ready for the car to turn like that. and i hit the plow dot, i think i could have had you in the end but i got taken out by lap traffic. but i felt the car was a bit twitchy and realy unpredictable, but it was a hot battle and i had all i could do to catch up to you after the first screw up. like i said before great race and great job. let me know where to send the ten bucks. also i need a set of tire warmers cheap (anyone)

You don't want me teaching anyone how to spell (I can teach someone how to use the spell checker though). Grammar, yes, spelling, no.
Anyways, Howard, I just purchased another ESC since my GM keeps shutting down on me. I went with the LRP Quantum Sport. It's good for motors over 14 turns, so our 19 turn spec class should be no problem for it. Why bother getting the higher current rated ones if we're not going to use it, unless you think you might try a touring car some day, or run the modified class at Cleveland next year (these are the reasons why I purchased the SX9 in the first place). I figured it's good to have at least one ESC that can handle modified motors, but my 'spare' didn't need to be that capable.
The Quantum Sport is less than $80, so a pretty good deal for 19 turn racing, if you're looking to save a few bucks.
Actually, I have purchased it, but have not picked it up yet. It's at Al's, and I'm planning on running there some time today (from home... off work until next Monday).

I'm always trying to think of a cheaper way to do stuff... how about take an old hair dryer and rig up a little duct-work so that it blows on the tires to warm them up? Or, put the car on a box with openings at the tires, and just blow the hot air into the box?
I don't know what tire warmers cost, but I bet they are a rip off if they are intended for RC use.
Oh, and I tried that cutter you gave me for the comm lathe, and it seemed to work fine.

Wow....believe it or not, I really really really really want my baby born on 01-21-2004.......that is what ANNIE's want because Jan 21st this coming year is Chinese new year day (the 01-01-2004 in Chinese Calender) and she really want our baby to be a Monkey (the 04 Chinese calender is Monkey)....and that will be 3 day LATER then her due day..........the chance is definitely not high, but I hope that can happen.
Yeah, I will definitely find myself back to the track, but I don't really need help on spelling.............because I think my new born can teach me how to spell and do trush talking on internet....hee hee....

Well, I think from now on, before I buy anything I need to ask ppl here.....espeically Walt, he is alike a BOB VIlla in RC...just know how to save a few bucks here and there...
Very good point, I never thought about that issue..........and NO< please and PLEASE.......I don't even know I can have any Nitro TC race for me this coming season, and please don't bring up that "elect touring car" thing in front of me....I've already got myself the 12th scale because of you.......not another 10th TC.
I redid the whole car for like 3 weeks, and thought I can run it and see it can go any faster.............too bad my season ended 3 weeks ago, but I will try to get out there again...may be March, April or May.....but I think I can do some TP Micro race, weekday is a little better then weekend.

Happy New Year everyone!!
Does AJ's have races on Firdays? (not that I have a car to race there). I don't have to work tomorrow so I might cruse out there if cars are running on the track since it's 30 min or less from me.
AJ's website doesn't look like it's been updated.

That's great Howard. Congratulations! Now the fun begins. Those first few months were rough in regards to sleep (or lack there of), but you actually get used to it after a while.
So you went with Jasmine... that's a nice name... just had to have a J. Lo in the family?

Hay Hay That's great Howard. Congratulations! We are all happy for you Howard. My First was a Girl and nothing better then having a Little Daddy's Girl. She is 34 now and still Daddy Girl. She might even like to race rc cars too. Mind did until she was 16.
Again Howard
Congratulations!
