Did you get a bad deal or an used car?
TA02 is an old chassis, but I heard that it is a strong and good rally chassis. I almost bought one a while ago.
I would not say that Tamiya is the best, but it is at the top of the list IMO.

I though asiatees was in japan why would people in japan celebrate a chinesse new year? Sure would have been nice if they had posted on thier website that they would be closed until the new year was over that way i wouldnt be sitting here thinking my parts are on thier way when there not. And i did not know about thier email being down so that explains why i have not gotten a reply from them. The reason i am sick of owning an old tamiya is that none of the LHS in my area carry parts and are to dumb to handle ordering them for me so im allways having to order online and i guess its not to bad but when all you need is a cheap part you end up paying more in shipping then the part itself cost's and im just getting fed up with it they dont carry tamiya anything so no matter what i have to order online.

gee, sorry you feel that way Billy.... but you got an ta02 which happens to be WAY out dated... its like you getting into a ford pinto and expecting to win an autocross against a ferrari, tuned celica, tuned civic, tuned silvia, porsche, etc...

Get a recently release Tamiya kit and you will not be sorry... most guys are raving about the TA04-R, TRF 414M2, Evolution 3...
I've raced mainly tamiya cars and I couldnt be happier!

No im done with tamiya to much abs plastic to break they need to get into the future and start making thier kits out of a different material i had a tlo1 but its nothing but a pile of junk until you stick about $400 worth of hop ups into it. And if i was going to a belt drive car i would rather have an hpi or losi maybe a 4tec before i would waste anymore money on an over priced tamiya kit.

I'm getting to the point were i understand what you mean Billy, I have had a lot of problems with both my TA02's... Not really a flaw in the design but a flaw in the durability of the kits. When ever i run either of my two i am constantly loosing screws and a lot of stuff just comes loose, I have tighted and over tighted everything i possibly can. Yet still i loose stuff on the semi-rough road i run them on.. Its like they just jar loose. I am tired of spending money on replacement stuff.. Like just today i ran the car for at most 10 minutes, lost the bottom front C hub screw (part that holds the C thing to the Uprights) along with the 5X8 ball bearing, lost the top screw parts to the shocks, and two body clips. I did not wreck the car at all, these just came loose. I found everything but the Hub screw and bearing that i will now have to order. or wait until it rains and the road is black so its easier to spot the parts haha. Anyway i think I am going to order new tires/wheels/body then onces they are finished park the cars for good and just show them to people. I just dont want to spend any more time or money on them. And since i have been unable to sell them for anywhere close to what i have in them both i am just going to clean and park... Maybe one day I'll find me a basher that is capable of holding together.... but from my experiences Tamiya just isnt that type brand.

Um... i dunno bot you, but the 350Z is on the tl01 chassis, not the ta02... unless you happen to buy the body set... anywhoo, to mount the msc... shouldnt you look in the manual you have? im very sure its there to show you how to mount it

dude...of course those screws are going to come off....they have course threads going into plastic.... just put in some CA...they wont come out by themselves...or replace with a finer thread screw. As to those other things...how do you lose a bearing? or caps to the shocks? I can understand the clips, but the rest... dang....what were you doing? I've had a cheapo TL01 and the only problem i had with it was the bottom C hub screw coming loose on occasion....fixed that easily. I now own the topline models tamiya produces and I've NEVER had a problem.(plus i dont have to put in extra hopups cuz they come with them)

fasternu... dude... get an ESC and give up that MSC idea!

I have a completely GPM'd and Hopped up TA02, no plastic left hardly. I lost the Bottom C hub screw which uses a Ball Bearing on the Aluminum front uprights. It has came loose before and i found it, this time i wasnt so lucky, I didnt loose the cap to the shocks, i lost the screws that hold the shock to the body, it has a spacer and such on it, dont know how it came loose. I have ordered all things i need to fix it and found most at my local hobby shop today, I also picked up some thread lock, and placed an order for a Tamiya 200mm Penzsoil Skyline GTR body with HPI Black Mesh 26mm wheels/ Tamiya Racing Semi-slick tires.... Should looks sweet, I am going to paint it to spec with daytona yellow and Outlaw black from Pactra... then make a pit like panaroma and put them in a display case.. I might still run my stock TA02 but the good one is going into hibernation for a few.....
