TA03 drive hard: what are you refering as metric? the GPM pinion or the Tamiya pinion TowerHobbies is selling?

There is a 48pitch conversion but thats only for the ta03... techically kenny is right about the pitch... it is close to 42... weird tamiya teeth but its close to being 48...
|
Are you saying that i can use 48 pitch pinion with a 42 pitch spur because there is really no big difference between the two?Sorry if ask a lot of questions but gearing in Tamiya cars is so confusing.

Hey guys, i've had my TA02 since it first came out basicly. It was a Loctite Skyline, my first real RC. I now have a TC3, micro RS4, emaxx, tamiya F1 and a mini Z. Still got the 02 though. Anyway, iam now working on getting it running again but this time as a baja truck. Iam using TC3 rally shocks, HPI super nitro mesh wheels and some proline dirt hog buggy tires. Tower doesnt sell the FRP stuff anymore, so i got out the o'l dremel and cut away some plastic, mostly under the batt. I just cant seem to get rid of that TA02, so i figure i'd have some fun with it. Anyone know of a good place to get parts?

i dunno how i missed this... yes i see those pinions on ebay... but he does not clearly say if metric or standard... i have a robinson pinion that is metric and im using it on my tl01... fits right and its the same size...

Shock building question....please help
First off it has been quite a while since I've built a car kit. I am building a TA02 and looking at the shock diagram there appears to be 2 black plastic spacers (OF DIFFERENT LENGTHS) that go over the shock shaft inside of the shock body. Am I supposed to put BOTH spacers on the shaft before I insert in into the shock body or do I have a choice of using the shorter spacer for more shock travel and the longer spacer for shorter travel or are BOTH spacers supposed to go together inside the shock during assembly????

You need to convert he chassis to a short version... that bod was used for the ff01 but on a short wheelbase version... which was easy to convert back into a normal wheelbase...

Hey 4Tex, if you cannot use the shell, I have a FF01 that needs it if you don't want it.

what hop ups do yall have? i have JET front universals, a front GPM hub barrier, a a GPM alloy motor mount, titanimum tunbuckles, titanium hinge pins, lightweight kingpins, tuned spring set, FRP shock towers, and ball bearings. i wish i cound find some aftermarket chassis. since i was like 6 years old when this car was popular i didnt really look into that stuff. hell i didnt even know the name of my car when i had it. i got it when i has like 10 as a f-150, then after i got other cars i pretty much for got about it. it was only until like 2 years ago i started to mess around with it an start to invest in it. everyone at my track thinks im nuts because i usually run my ta02 around rather that my xxxs. i just really think its a cool chassis! what were some of the barands that made stuff for it, and what were the aftermarket chassis. also, anyone know where i can get any of it besides ebay? i alreadt found a site called etamiya that still sells the frp chassis, and asiatees sells a few gpm parts for it... also, anyone have pics of there cars? thanks- mark

That's not a TA02, that's a DT01 just like the Hummer chassis.

Hi,
I have a Dirt Thrasher TA-01.
After few runs with a 16T Pinion, WildDagger Tires (130mm), 10 cells and a 600BB motor ... I have melted down the Spur Gear.
Since the original part: 900532 look not so easy to find ...
Does somebody knows if I can use other spur gear .. like the one for TA02 ?
Thanks
