OH NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!`

Something is wrong with my car now. I went from the 20 tooth pinion to the 21. Not a big jump, just wanted a little more top end. Got a new charger, Eagle racing 16X5 v. 2 so Nicads and Nimh's will love me. My batteries would go like stink for the first 2 laps, I'd pass like 3 to 4 people then dumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never had this problem before with the cells. I've used them in my ta04 and hpi sprint and nothing at all ever happened. I'm doing a full discharge and will let them cool down over night and put about %60 back in them. Plus the motor was so hot, it melted the solder from the positive esc. What did I do? I'm running the middle spur 58t with the 21 pinion and my ratio will only be 7.18 and it is in the right hole. The alloy motor mount, front and rear sway bars, and the under ssg bits are in the mail so those are gonna help me out some. Well at least the motor mount will. My wire came off at the last race. I pulled out the first 2 races with 4 laps and I let my car run the entire 5 minutes for the last. When I first got car, I was running the 55t spur with the 25 pinion which is only 5.72. That was a hot motor and very fast but slow at the start. I hope I haven't hurt my esc or motor but I might have. Batteries are gonna hate me. HELP ME GUYS!!!!!!!

You may wanna try to gear back down and see what happens... or try the 55/22 combo... spool up might be higher but better...

Boy was my motor hot even with the tb02 heat sink on top. It's like it didn't even work. Do you wanna make a bet that I killed my brushes? Do you think it could have been the esc?

Yes they were silver. I'm not sure on what rating the brushes were but they were trinity. My friend uses the same ones too and his motor was flying.

Ya silver is hard on the comm... do you have the same spring tension on the motor as your friend? they might be to heavy... try medium on the positive and light on the negative...

so that 1 tooth increase on the pinion would have nothing to do with it in over gearing? what should I run a stock motor at then?

well i took out the brushes and they barely had any blue on them. I though they were gonna be toast!!! I dropped down 2 pinions to a 19 now. I hope this helps. Plus I read my instructions for my charger.

3 pinions and 2 spurs plus not too many motor choices. Put a hot motor the drivetrain will melt and if we put a calmer motor, the car runs like a tortoise. Yep..that's TL01 alright...

I just can't wait to get my hands on TB02 or maybe till they come up with new motor mount? I hate a prepositioned motor mount. I miss my 25/61 setup on my TB01

i aht the alum motor mount as well, i like to use custom settings, and they are never exact with those... does anyone know the highest i can gear a sport tuned on my 02... i need it for tcs, the thing is the ta04's have these huge gears, and tb01 uses small ones, so they rip me on straights......
