I'll probably give that suspension set a shot ... keep the Tamiya universals in a bag and source some titanium CVD's. When I find some that fit, I'll post where I found them. Fun stuff, I'm diggin the 02.

Novak SS5800

Is the Novak SS5800 going to be ok on the stock TB-02 gear ratios? Or will I need to up/down the pinion size?

I'm building mine right now ... the SD seems stiffer and has a few more goodies than a TB02. Kit screws suck though, and the motor mount is kinda funky. Haven't built the suspension yet, should have it done later tonight.

Well, your building a drifter. Have you seen a drifters suspension? Its completely solid. Kinda like a tank.

Got it 95% done last night ... the suspension is fine except for the shocks not being oil filled, ***? Fortunately Yokomo sent me the Stage 1 and 2 upgrade kits, one of which has a nice set of aluminum oil filled shocks included. Also bad is metal bushings on the axles ... but I have replacement ceramic bearings I'll run it first in stock trim, and then try out the upgrade kits. After all the stuff I have to go on it, the car will be more hopped-up than the SD Racer kit.

The threaded GPM shocks fit good, and were only $20. They came with 3 different shock pistons, and different end ball-joints to adjust the shock length. They get rid of the stock ball ends though. Springs that come on them are pretty stiff, but Tamiya springs fit. They feel 100x better than the crappy plastic kit shocks.

Ordered my Surikarn front and rear shock towers, aluminum motor mount, and sway bar set ... now what ways are there to stiffen this chassis up, it's way to bendy. Can you take the plastic piece off the front and rear of the tub upper (the parts covering the spur and shaft front), and use a EVO 3 carbon upper plate?
