It makes no difference as to what radio he has, all charge switches are essentially the same.

One side of the switch has both the male and female connector and the other doesn't, right. Well just plug the battery into the female connector and take the male connector from the other side of the switch and plug that into your Rx. Now the male connector the is open on the battery side is the charge plug.

i was very interested in what radio he was using because i have not seen a radio charger like what he is explaining. airtronics, jr, hitec radios that i own only have a single female plug for the charger. why are you plugging into the receiver??

No the switch should be in the off position. If you leave it in the on position your servos and receiver would drain the battery faster than the trickle charger can replenish it.

The Hitec harness also allows you to plug in the DSC (Direct Servo Control) cord and then you have to switch it on in order for the DSC to work.

you don't even need to use that part for charging, that part with the switch is to use the DSC and a Rx pack at the same time. all you need to do it plug the rx pack directly inot the charger, don't try to charge through your rx it might harm it

you can download a manual for the 3D from www.hitecrcd.com

The charging switch harness allows you to charge the Rx pack without removing or unplugging anything. It doesn't go through the receiver because it's on the other side of the switch, that's very basic electronics. You can't get current to flow through an open circuit and when the switch is in the OFF position then no current flows to the receiver only to the battery which is on the same side of the circuit.

Agreed, I have one on my savage to do that, but if I remeber correctly the harness that comes with the 3D is not a charging switch harness. It allows both the DSC cord and the rx pack to be connected to the same slot on the rx.

ok I will clear up all doubts for you. I have this radio, and this is the exact replacement from HiTec to use the switch in the following link, which is a charging jack. but I had to ask to be sure on placement to double check, since the manual says nothing about it.

charging Jack

This should clear up the confusion. The Hitec chargeing switch harness also doubles as the DSC because it has an extra wire in it, the yellow wire. This is the wire that carries the signal from the Tx to the Rx while the Tx is not transmitting. This works with the ground wire, the black one. When you use the DSC you are not using the red wire which is why you need to turn on the Rx.

The non-Hitec charge switch harness made by Futaba, Sanwa, JR, etc only use two wires, a red (power) and black (common). There is no yellow DSC wire.

I hope that clears things up a little.

charging Jack [/B]
This is a standard charge jack switch harness and cannot be used with the Lynx and the DSC cord. You do not have the third wire to carry the signals to the receiver.

Hitec Part #54401 is the EXACT replacement, accept no substitutes.
