Receiver Pack and Charger ?

I've been using a cheapo wall charger with a 6v NiMH 5-cell hump-pack 1200MaH for my 1/8 scale buggy. I really didn't know any better other than run it 'til it drops out then plug it into the charger until the little LED winks off and 'voila' it's ready to use again. Heat, peak, MaH, blah-blah-blah... I know nothing about that stuff.

Well, this has worked for a while, but...

Since I don't know squat about batteries and chargers I'm wondering if any of you with a bit more experience than I can recommend:

- what 6v Rx NiMH battery packs do you recommend?
- what is the best way to charge the Rx packs?
- what brand charger works best and has the versatility I may need?
- any good links to explaining the basics about batteries and how to charge them?

I'm not too concerned with prices at this point, I'm trying to focus on the minimum I need to retain a set of good quality Rx packs. Any good advice would be greatly appreciated.
