New 1/8 Buggy coming from GS Racing
Thanks to a report from one of our members, we've seen the announcement the GS Racing intends to release a new 1/8 off-road vehicle, called the Avenger Storm Mk. II. There's no other information posted right now other than a hazy CAD drawing, but we'll post more information as it becomes available.

Figures, they have to block the best part. Maybe they are trying to hide something...

I vote "Avenger Storm Mk. II" as one of the coolest names ever for a radio controlled vehicle!

Looks as if the caster and suspension geometry in general will be very similiar to the Mugen X5.. just going of the pic but the sweeping upper front arm looks familiar.... this should be a kit to look for .. Not a GS fan but it looks good... so far..........
Im still a Mugen Man.. ..lol.. like to see a few at the track this year

I just checked out those new drawings. It looks like a MBX4R works. Forward mounted center drive unit, pivot ball front suspension. Hmm, why copy old technology? Not saying that copying isnt OK (I kinda like it), just why not go after the MBX5 design. Again, we are just looking at drawings...........

It does look good. I am hoping the Hyper 7 PCR, the Avenger, and the Swift will give real opportunities for those budget minded racers (me!) stuck with either Hong Norr low end buggies and top end MBX5 or K2/K3. I just cant afford those top end ones. Its an exiting time for us middle class budget RC racers!

That diffs case design is interesting but I don't really get the logic behind it unless they included 4 or 5 diffs/housings/bearings/ring/pinion gears with the car so changing oil weight would just be a matter of swapping diff housings.

Instead of taking the whole rear off, you can remove the diff without removing the entire diff case. It just makes things easier.

LOTS of pics of the new Avenger buggy at this website. Too many to post. Some very innovative and impressive looking stuff. GS certainly didn't want to make 'any old buggy'. This thing looks different from front to back compared to most buggies.

no offense Katatonia but that's like saying all formula 1 cars are the same, or all motorcycles are the same.
you have to know what you're looking at to be able to see the differences.
oh sure, it has 3 diffs, four wheels and a wing, but trust me, it's very different.

Some very curious things about that buggy. That body would have to go, man that's ugly.
8 tooth spider gears... interesting
I'm not at all crazy about the severely steep angle of that front brace.
The CV bearing set-up is interesting... what are those.. like 16X20's?
