Subaru off-road car?

I just saw a vid on trilordy and it had the off-road car by (I forgot) that comes with the blue Subaru body and it looked pretty sweet.

My question is, Is there a way to lift my TC3 so it can get away with driving on a packed course? The vid makes it just look cool as hell.

Thanks

ok i got this in my e-mail from ae. its in the newsletter yo ucan subscribe to

Q: Will the TC3 Rally Conversion kit work on the Nitro TC3?
A: No, it's only for the electric TC3. If you want to do rally with the
Nitro, just remove the droop screws and then change to a .71 shock shaft(#6460 for steel shafts--$3.00 each, or #6418 for Unobtainium coated shaftsfor $6.00), which will extend the travel, and then you can use rally tires and rims to get more chassis height.

hope it helps you!

OH really? That sounds pretty easy. What is the droop screw? What's the size of rally tires and wheels?

Thanks a lot.

i dont know...i think just rally tires are bigger its not a specific size. If you do this tell me how it works out! I might follow in your footsteps!

and the drop screw is a screw found on the lower A-arm that is used to adjust ride hight. it has a hexagonal head and it come out on the bottom of the arm and touches this metal thing on the chassi.

if you put the car with the front away from you the A arms will have that little screw on the front end just look for it and tell me what happens!

I am looking on TH now and the tires don't look any bigger, so how does the tc3 gain any more clearance? The shaft allows the shock to move some more, but there aren't any bigger springs to get it up in the air any more?

Thanks

quinton do you have AIM and if yeah what is it?

it gains more clearence because those screws limit the tracel and you dont need longer springs you just need shock spacers or if u dont have any use some zip ties.

rally tires are just for traction!

No aim.
'Bout bed time for me.

If I don't end up trading over the next week or so I will do it. It just sits too low for me to drive it and have any amount of fun.

Thanks

I would like to put on some bigger wheels/tires to get more then only 1/2" clearance though, ya know. Like some buggy wheels.

I just removed the rear droop screws and then unscrewed the lower shock screw to see how much I could gain. It's looks like 1/8 to 3/16 inch, then the lower a arm hits the alloy chasis. So I'm thinking it would be a cool mod to do and then take the dremel to the chassis to gain even more. Now my heads really turnin'
LOL

Thanks

For the springs, just use .56 buggy springs from AE. You also need to be careful hacking the "ears" off of the chassis for the droop screws. If they aren't done perfectly from side to side, the chassis will be tweaked and the car will handle like crap. You will also eliminate any chance to use droop screws to set the ride height in the future along with possibly binding the CVDs when the arm is extended completely.

Very good points. I've got the front set up how I like it, now I just need to dremel a little on the far rear where the "arm" hits the black plastic piece.
