this safe?

is it safe to take out the head shim or gasket between the head and the block on my velocity 15? i heard it will boost compression, but i dun wanna blow my engine....thanx

i took the shim out of my .15fe then it didn't run at all. after that i lost the shim but it's ok now i have a TRX 2.5 now

It will boost compression and increase power, and 90% of the time it works excellent. Just don't go overboard with it and you should be fine.

i would sugjest slowly cranking it and feeling for the head if u get it all the way around u will be fine if u find the head get a new shim and install it it will seal fine without it tho

removing the shim will do what was said above. Make sure when you put your head back on that you slowly tighten head screws in a cross pattern to make sure it goes on square.
