as a spec class car there will be no hop ups for it,every part must remain box stock to race spec.

About the weight, it's considerably good compare to other in the same class since the chassis is not carbon or graphite

^ so far i dont know of any other company that has a spec touring car. there was a few pancar specs that competed with the old trinity spec kit. and there is no graphite or carbon to keep the price down, spec is for the budget racer were skill is more important than wallet.

howd u get it in december when its just been released?

2nd, I see the quality of steel ball diff. is comply with current technology (see the rctek.com -> site map -> ball diff. section). Quite responsive but after several runs, you have to fix it because it's a bit loose

^after the first few runs the diff will loosen on anything, its called breaking it in.

For ground clearance set up, it uses a grub screw with hex/allen key driver, and not the spacer or else

^ride height is set by the threaded body shocks, u set the droop using the front and rear droop screws.

Has anyone heard any more information on the T-Spec, or is currently racing one?

I believe that the $109 kit will include a body but no battery or motor.

The kit with battery and motor is now $134.99!

Use Ad #010L1 and save $10!

The president of our local onroad racing club, Rose City Scale Racing, started recruiting local high school students in to a weekend racing club. He'd actually spent his own hard-earned cash to purchase 6 full TC3 RTR setups for the kids to use. The first school he presented the idea to produced 6 enthusiastic racers. Six cars, six kids, looked good.
The second school that he presented the program to has given us an initial estimate of 50 (!!!) students interested in taking part in the high school r/c racing program. This school district has offered to help the kids out that may not be able to afford to throw down the entire package price by purchasing the cars, and allowing the kids to either make payments, or to work off the debt.
I want to thank Ernie and Toni @ Trinity for their efforts, they've stepped up in a BIG way to help the club out with the T-Spec cars. I'd also like to thank Mike at Hitec as well, as their contribution has helped us put together a great package that the kids will have a ton of fun with at a price that their parents shouldn't cringe at.
I'll have the initial "model" car kit in my hands tomorrow, which I'll be assembling and painting for presentation to the kids and parents on Saturday. I'll let you guys know how the build goes, and I'm sure I'll have a durability report soon after.

I brought my r/c car action mag. into class and had a whole bunch of people really liking the stuff.

I didn't find out until it was in my hands, but it is a ROLLING CHASSIS. Not a kit. It comes with a pretty detailed assembly manual, which does, however, overlook the step where you mount the motor in the car. That's really the only wrench-turning required, so it's quite funny that they missed this. The motor mounts in the same manner that the TC3's does. Screw the cam on to the motor, key the cam to the chassis, and adjust gear mesh by rotating the motor, and tighten the clamp. I can see newbies having trouble with this without explanation.
As far as quality of the car - it's pretty incredible for the money. The suspension is very similar, if not identical to the Reflex NT. Should be very durable. The chassis is pretty flexible, but this should actually help the handling on rougher parking lots, particularly for an unseasoned racer.
We're going to have to figure out a way to secure the stick pack. The chassis is cut for a side-by-side pack, but the spec battery is a stick. It slides front to back (easy fix with foam, but it didn't come with enough), and side to side. The side to side action is going to be an interesting fix, given that you're not allowed to add or remove material from the chassis, and you can't use foam on the inside as it will hit the driveshaft. I'll have to chat with Trinity about this.
The diffs seem very smooth, thought they're not set correctly from the factory. I'd work the diff by hand for a while, then tighten it a bit prior to running. Then check it a few times during the first run. Then after two packs, and intermittently after that. The car I rec'vd had the front diff set VERY loose, it took very little to make it slip (by hand). If a newbie were to throw it down without tightening it, I'd wager the balls would be ruined within the first run.
There are a few small things that seem to need attention prior to running the car, but I don't really see this as a bad thing as long as it's just adjustment related stuff. I think that new racers should tear the car down prior to racing anyhow, to familiarize themselves with the car and learn how to do repairs and routine maintenance.
For the money, I just don't see anyone finding a better package for spec racing. Actually, you'd have to spend a good deal more to own another car with this kind of adjustability.

Dude, I just don't trust a kid (or an adult male for that matter) that doesn't at least say "Hey, that's kinda cool" when shown a hobby-grade r/c car.
It's just not natural for the male of the species to NOT salivate at the sight of SOME sort of wheeled, winged, or propped vehicle. The Barbie Corvette DOES NOT COUNT under any circumstances. Ever.

Already assembled huh? Don't like that. Honestly they should have a true kit option so you can assemble it yourself. Who knows what the person building it did, I doubt they would be as careful as the owner. Also there is the a cost built into a prebuilt kit, sort of like a build charge, i wonder how much cheaper the car would have been if it was in unassembled form? Could easily be under $100.

So basically your battery pack can slam into the drive shaft unlike the TC3 where you have some material there or am I getting this wrong?

Another thing, if this car is for spec racing, kind of strange that they cut the chassis for side x side packs? Will side x side packs be legal?

Easy there, guys! Keep in mind that this car will be available through most sources with a battery, motor, body, wheels, and tires for under $140. The chassis alone is a bit cheaper, and allows you to choose your own power, body, and tires. It's a killer deal no matter how you look at it.
As far as the car being set up for side-by-side packs - this would be perfect of your track spec'd the car for a 19 turn class, which would most likely be run using 3300's in side-by-side configuration.
RcLaB1 - The suspension is completely adjustable, you can dial in as much oversteer as you want, though I don't know why you'd want that. Properly set up race cars will have a touch of high speed understeer. This allows you to let up on the throttle slightly to tighten the radius. There is enough room for adjustment with the battery alone to affect this, too. Move the battery forward for less understeer. Oversteer generally causes the car to spin out on uneven surfaces and off camber corners (not an issue on most tracks), and the tail may swing out under heavy breaking.
Sorry guys, but it's going to be tough to find fault in this car for it's intended purpose, not to mention it's price point. I've raced top of the line cars from every manufacturer, and currently race a Yokomo SD SSG. Far as I can tell, the Trinity offers the same adjustments as my Yok. The suspension on the Trinity car is beefier, so it'll handle abuse better (yeah, the Brokomo isn't the most durable).

I recently picked one up and it's a very nice setup, after I ordered it I picked up a nice XXX-S...so I'm selling mine. Brand New, never touched the track and I throw in a Factory Team TC3 Aluminum Motor Cam (which works with the T-Spec). I will post pics later. $75 shipped and I'm paypal and e-bay verified!!!

Hi: does anyone knows the internal ratio of it? Would it accept aftermarket spur gears and pinions? or it has fixed motor positions to ensure proper gear mesh with factory isntalled spur gear. I just want to know more about it before i get one! thanks.

I've just found out a new car that looks almost similar to T-Spec. Check out this page http://www.rccartips.com/vanguard.htm Is it the same unit as T-Spec. It called Vanguard RTR version with Sanwa Blazer AM.

Rgds,

The internal drive, is 37/13 = 2,846
The spur is 60 and the pinion is 24 = 2.5
Final ratio is 7.115
I think the pinion and spur is 48 pitch and those can be changed.
I can adjust the motor by turn it left or right depend on pinion/spur set.
