mrc 969 charging question

Hey Guys, I got another question about mrc 969. Is it possible to charge 9 AA or AAA nimh batteries? I know that the charger can only do 8 cells, but if I set the "capacity" charge to say 10% or 5%less of what the AA or AAA is rated, can the 9 cells be charged? Eg. if the AA is rated for 2000mAH and I like to charge 9 of them and I set the "capacity" charge on the 969 to 1800mAH, can the batteries be charged?

Since the 969 can do 1 to 8 cells, and 2 packs at one time, why not charge them as two separate batches of cells?

Well, I was thinking of using 9 nimh cell pack for my radio, since 9 nimh comes closer to a 8 alkaline batteries.

I guess I can split that into two, but I have to do something to join those two packs together.

I run 8 NiMH 1800 AmpHr cells in my Transmitters and they work fine. I use the .5 amp setting on my 959 and they charge in about 15 minutes. They also have about 11 volts when peaked and will last for a couple of hours before they drop below 9 volts.

For the transmitter you can run 8 AA NiMH batteries and it will perform well. On the Reciever side if you choose to run NiMh or Nicads it will need to be in a 5 cell pack for the full 6.0 Volts.
