why does the xbg suck so much????? only lasts about 1 gallon of nitro. can only reach up top 30-35mph. a bitch to start. only good for a 1st bad car experiance. bad plastic chassi. only good thing on this is the body and rims. THATS ITS. stick with tamiya electric and start drifting

Damn right! My car is awfall! It's like 10 hours of tuning to 1 tank of driving. Then it needs tuning again. It is a pretty bad car. The chassis is quite strong for plastic.
I haven't even managed to get a whole gallon through it yet because I dont bother playing with it no more.

The tgs was built as a low budget beginners car hence why it probably isnt all that great. If you're looking for speed try using the high speed gear set and a newer engine (i personally want to try and fit a tnx engine in there).. anything beyond that probably dictates a different type of car.. tg10 mk.2?

Depends on what you want. If you want something that you can slowly modify and take to the track then i suggest looking at a different car, one with a better hop - op options. If you just want a car to drive then the tgs should be fine. Maitainace wise it has the same maintainece as all nitro cars, cleaning the car after a run, adding after run oil to the engine.. etc. I also hear that the flywheel on the car is not tightened enough by the factory so that should be taken care of too. Good luck

DONT GET THIS CAR!!... lol i got one, they are rubbish! Mine goes wrong every 10 mins... they are not good, Tamiya are best at Electrics, not nitros.
There is not much hop-ups for the car too..
I think you will be better off with a HPI rush evo or RS4... Much better! and not much more money! (you will save money in parts)

Well I got the stock FS.12S and it does suck, is there a better carb I can buy so maybe it would become more reliable?
Also I need a new engine head since I stripped the glow plug threads on the head. Will a new head be expencive?

I'd think so... for around 70 - 80 dollars you can get an os .12 cv which i hear is better than the tamiya one..

Just ordered some parts from Tamiya America, should arrive at the lhs on wed/thursday.. Now all i have to decide is what kind of engine i want to run.. I don't plan on running the stock one based on all the trouble people seem to be having with it. I'll keep all of you posted.

wel tnx for the help but i worked it out,it was the glow plug heater and the fuel tank had a hole in there (once i found out i literally slaped my head hard!)
then i took it out for a spin and it kept cutting out ,then my glow plug heater stoped working (because i hadnt charged it properly) so i couldnt use it but oherwise this car is brilliant lol

Your mind will change soon, they are not so brilliant after a while. Mine became ultra hard to start even with a brand new glow plug, I ran it very rich and it STILL over-heated and flamed out. Eventually it just never started again, and it still had compression like brand new! But one time I thought I'd attempt to start it up, and it actually started... So it's punishment for causing all this trouble was....... Death. Yes, I blew it up and man was it fun!
