The Road to 200 – Nic Case & Team Associated
Team Associated and Nic Case have been working on a special project the dubed “The Road to 200”. I think that with all the input of experienced & talented individuals, that the possibility of reaching 200mph with an R/C car is within reach.
This is the equipment we plan to make history with.
The car ,the SR11 is based on the NTC3 and is designed by myself and Curtis Husting.
Power is supplied by a 1521 Neu motor, 12 cell PowerEdge LiPo battery, and the sophisticated power management of a Castle Creations HV speed controller. The gears are the finest made 32 pitch hardened steel version by RW, while the radio will be the Fasst System from Futaba and the tires are from BSR.

Video update
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xiki9...el_video_title
http://www.teamassociated.com/road_to_200/

The guys at Team Associated have put together another professionally edified video. Just excellent !!!
Details of the car, products used & you can get a really get a glimpse of how hard this is.
My grammar needs improvement, LOL - you’ll see in the interview portion.
Anyway
Still working on the "last" parts for a June or July attempt.

Yes, you are right
Sorry for the confusion. This video was but together from two separate test sessions. One in December and the other in March. If you look and listen and even closer you will also notice "other" things that don’t really flow perfectly.
But, I do think this video communicates what we are trying to do with some decent footage under the hood......
As far as the blow-over, it happened at 177mph – we were actually lucky we got a reading ,since it happened after the speed traps. It has happened 3 times before -- just not with a speed-reading. The audio at the end, mentions 167mph that was from our first run, in the morning, not in the evening like the video implies. In between those two runs, we also had one at 173mph.
Anyway
Now that we have extra-long-range with our 4PK, next time out otta-be good.

I hope that you get the speed run on video, I would love to see you break the 100 mph.

Hi Josh
With the steering I suggest tightening the "servo saver" collar all the way and add 1' tow-in to the front. Can you post a photo of the car with body on- and off?
Also---Turn down your dual-rate on the radio ,so when you drive the car slowly - with the wheel all the way to the left --it makes a 20-foot diameter circle. Then do the same to right - if different adjust end point on the radio. Re-trim the steering - and check it again. This is very important and often overlooked.
Cheers & good luck

Chronicling - The Road to 200
If you have 4 minutes to spare,
I’ve just put together a video chronicling our journey to get an R/C car to achieve 200mph.
Even thought the goal has not yet been realized, I thought it would be good to honor the effort, time, & support of the 80+ people that have contributed over the last several years.

Cheers

Just out of curiousity, are you not running any kind of gyroscopic steering assistance on the car? Every gyro-assisted car I've had you can just kinda get it going the right way and it'll track like an arrow even if the terrain is less than perfect.
Great driving! I keep waiting for the 'mission accomplished' video.
