Thought that I would bring this one back out of the archives to get some nitro blood pumping. Specially for some of the new members.

Hey Hydroracer! I'm really sorry I didn't know where you were at before! I'm in hollywood, FL too and I just built my first boat. It would have been great to compare notes with somebody else with RC boating experience. Where and when do people run boats around here? I've been to Markham Park several times, but never met any boaters there. Unfortunately, I'm taking off for New York this weekend and won't be back til Christmas. I hope to run into you then!

Fast boats

Hey CFR those are some nice boats, just read the thread and it impressed me. I am one of the new guys into nitro boats, just broke in my Proboat Shockwave36 which I gps'd at 30mph without any tuning yet.
Now I live in New England on a pond and have been trying to run everyday for the last two weeks, never more than an hour at a time as the temps are sometimes unbearable. Sorry, back on topic, I thought, as do my few spectators, that my boat was the fastest thing around but after reading this thread I have become educated and have plans of building a fast nitro.

This site rocks, I love spending hours at a time reading here.
Thanks to all who participate.

I love it when old threads come back to the top. I think this was when CFCR was a new guy and we gave him a hard time for his first post or something like that. Memories & friendships made. Now Cape Cod Shockwaver, get into the action with a digi camera and show us some work.

The first red twin pictured with the twins is a Road Runner, they are built there in Florida near St. Pete. They build boats from .21 up to the Twins and are the BEST heat racing hydro around (in my humble opinion). The twin Road Runner has especially done well. I have a .67 Road Runner that I set up for heat racing to run 10 sec laps. It is adrenaline at its finest.

DD- I heard my name......

SW'er-- Welcome to the site and the wonderful world of R/C boating. Lots to learn and it never stops, so always keep your ear to the ground.

KM- Yes if I remember right it was a RoadRunner. Was running twin mod-Mac 84's. This particular boat had lots of time & money put into it. The turn fin alone was custom lathe'd, and a picture of beauty. I still have a video somewhere on my hardrive. Shows this 3k + boat in action.

Whats up? I lurk every once in awhile. Saw this old post come to life & had to post.

I have been really busy lately, with new son & new work project. So when I get a little spare free time. I hit the lake, not the PC. I should be getting to a settle point here soon though. My big work project that I have been on since April is comming to a end. I will be taking some time off & might get back into a scratch build that I started early last year. That and a few other boats that need a little time into them. I do still have 4 that are running just fine & get to the water when time permits.
