How much are these engine's????
I am curious cause the ws7 I just got from a guy on here is junk!
I need a new engine aren't the v-spec's kinda cheap or am I thinking about another model.
I like os engine's but I would like to square off against one of these engine's with my 4.6 HPI engine!

This engine is WAY more expensive than the HPI K4.6 motor. This runs about 260.00-300.00. It has kick A$$ low end power which is PERFECT for our track here in the islands.

I have a WS7 I motor currently running in my MP777 and I am plannin on getting another OS VSPEC for the buggy. I feel this motor doesn't give me the low end that I need. Also a bit hard to tune. As the OS, the saying is...
you set it....then forget it.

As far as power wise, I currently run with the carb restrictor in it, and this thing spins tires. I think I need a Sunday of practice to get her controlled without the carb restrictor in it.

But I needed longer run time which is why I opted to go down to a high end .21. I get about 10min of run time, where as my MACH got about 6 or 7. That means I can make my "A" main 10 min race without pitting.....hopefully. Again this is a .21 and the K4.6 is a .28, so I don't think that they should be even considered in the same class, but for AWESOME low end and good top....you gotta pay the bills....3 bills at that..go with the OS. I currently have a SH.28 waiting to drop into my Truggie, but I think I'll wait a while before I drop that bad boy in.

AAWWRIGHTTTT!!!!

Well I have to say that the 4.6 engine ran great today at the track!
Its faster than the ws7 thats there and it seems to run the strongest out of all the truggies!
I am happy with it for now!
Try the ofna violater tank its bigger and only takes a little bit of hand fitting to get it in there!

Does anybody have the SH .28 in this thing? What gearing are you running? How does it run? I'm looking to get a descent mill fairly cheap. I'm looking at the SH .28 and the Collari B3. Let me know what you guys think!

the sh28 is a major fuel pig.. i cannot imagine how it will run in the lsp for run times.. you will need to get a smaller back plate set up for it also as th estock is way too big for the stadium set up

I would say for the money get the 4.6 engine that's in the new savage
watch ebay for a new one
then put the nova race products head on it.
They are a pretty good engine.
I race with one and like it lots!

The back plate isn't a problem I have 2 24.7's on my bench. I want something with more power.

Do yourself a favor and get the Collari 7 port instead of the three port. Sure it's a little more expensive, but it does put out a bit more power. I run the 7 port and it's pretty darn fast. There aren't any truggies out there where I race that pull me on the straight. They may be faster with a C5, but it's not by much. You could always do what I did, buy the 7 port instead of a C5, then with the money you save send it to RB Mods or EB mods and get it worked. I have a EB Mods Collari and it's FAST! Just got back the RB Mods one so I haven't had a chance to run it in yet. Maybe next week during practice days at our track. The work RB Mods did on the Crank, sleeve and case are pretty nuts. We'll see how it goes.

I am not saying this to piss anybody off here but modded engines are not that great from what I have seen.
Yeah they have alot of power but they are touchy for tuning and most of the time you have to run 30% nitro which for us guys that are looking for alot of use is hard on the engine.
I would say that I would not mind having a modded engine but I have heard to many bad things on them.
CR had a heavly modded engine and sold it cause he did not like it!

Modified motors:

Modified motors are a bit harder to tune, but the power gains is well worth it. I have both a eb mods and a rb mods collari 21 and they are easy to tune. Yes they do recommend using 30% nitro, but they are well worth it. I've been running a EB mods collari for the last month or so and it's extremely easy to tune and the power is decent. The eb mods engine is a little less radical then the rb mods that I ran a few break in tanks on today. But the rb mods collari is making crazy power and it was temping only around 200 degrees. You should try calling Rick Brake of RB mods, he's a wealth of knowledge and easy to talk to. Factory racers have factory worked engines. This is the next best thing. I can't wait to run a little more through the RB mods engine then it'll be a hard decision for me. But I'm leaning toward running the RB mods engine. Hyperstang has seen my truck in action before, and he would probably say that it's pretty fast. I think I have one of the fastest trucks at our track. The tuning on modified engines is critical, but it's not too much harder to tune than a stock motor.

i dislike how ed says the tops 28 8 port is set up for 30% fuel.. BUT when compairing head shims to my rb tm728 AND my tops 3 port they were all the same.. and those are only set up for MAX 25% fuel..
