Site glitching for you?

Since this site went down a few days ago I've had all kinds of problems getting in and with posting or reading postings. I have to keep hitting Refresh to get in. Anyone else having trouble? Answer if you can!

This site is slow. ~ period ~

Doesn't matter if I'm using the home puter w/ ISDN or work w/ DSL. Still terribly slow.

Yeah, its real slow. I'm glad to know that its not my computer or my cable service. On the other hand, that means that its the site's problem . Thats not good.

Funny thing though. The site shouldn't be slow at all. They did a big upgrade last week and brought in a new server. I run cable at home and T1 at work and I've found it to be a bit faster overall but there have been some oddities.

I find that sometimes some pages seem to hang halfway through loading. When I try to reload or refresh the page all I get it the "spinning globe" (IE6) but no change to the pages. I have to leave the whole forum and then come back before it'll work at all.

Its fine for me. It is slower than most sites for me (3.5mbps cable), but not annoyingly slow or glitchy.

The only glitches I have are caused by Spybot S&D, of all things. I use Opera to access this site, and Spybot can be counted on to detect and delete the cookies that Opera sets and uses. So, I have to re-log in after a Spybot session. Otherwise, I've noticed a number of sites getting slow and unreliable after an upgrade to their servers. It seems to be an epidemic. Annoyances.org is all but unusable at times, and a handyman board I frequent goes through times where it's particularly bad. I mean, to the point it won't even try to load.

Go to www.kirotv.com and get a free download to detect and eliminate that crap. It will clean off all that stuff. Our local news station did a report on it and I found 286 undesireable items that was really slowing down my system. It is under the consumer section of the web page. My computer is a lot faster now.

Uploaded my pics last night & it seemed to be much faster all around. Normally it takes a lunch break from the time I click on the site till it loads. Didn't matter what puter. Now its much better. Also like the extras on the QR.

It loooks just like the one I'm building now! We gotta swap pix! I'm taking my time with it, I've got all Winter to work on mine.

A pity the hydro wasn't mine. I took the pic at the Invitational race the club I belong to throws every year, this was probably about 3 years back. It's a Sport40 with the stealth canopy, cut to allow the pipe to come out above rather than through the transon as the plans call for. The owner made the change after a most regrettable incident that involved placing his finger over the tip of the pipe, and somehow getting into the propeller. Ouch. I don't remember who the owner is, unfortunately.

I'm building a very similar vessel, stealth canopy and all. Having seen his boat, I've decided to modify mine in the same way for safety's sake.

Is this site giving any one problems today? Its practically locking up on me. Even when it isn't locking up, its slower than Christmas. Intlwaters.com is fine.

After it was fixed, especially for us with AOL, it seems like it is slowing down again, not as bad as before but still slower.

I can't say that there's been any glitching here, beyond the fact that my anti-spyware tools identify the cookies as a potential problem. If I delete the offending cookies, I'll have to re-enter my username and password, but beyond that there isn't as much slowness as I've experienced elsewhere. It's actually reasonably fast.
