difference between std. and needle rod
on aeromarines website on there .67 and.80 ops engines you have a choice of standard and needle rod what is the difference

I think it's either Needle Bearings in the Con. Rod or Regular Bushings or Ball Bearings..
Not a 100% sure but I am pretty sure.

they are round rods that roll instead of Balls. I would say that Ball Bearings are better. but I am not sure that the 'Std' model is really a ball bearing motor.

there the same price so i guess i would be more towards reliability and ease of dissambly if i have to so what would be better for that

Well, about 90% of all automobile manuf.'s use Needle bearings for their hub and wheel bearings. So I would guess that Needle Bearings would last longer.
You should def. call Aeromarine and get a Professional's opinion.

You will need to find out if they are talking crankshaft or conrod bearings. If it's the conrod, go with the needle bearings. If it's the crankshaft, go ball bearings.
