Building a TC3...Suggestions.

Hello everyone. I have been out of the hobby for 6 months or so and i have decided to make my tc3 into a rocket (pretty much) lol.. I have a TC3 Factory Team addition with the all the hop-ups. I want to go way over 50+ easy.

So far i have added carbon fiber chassis braces, removed the front and rear bumpers, and i have dremeled down the chassis to almost nothing... I will send pictures of the chassis if requested.

I'm looking for suggestions on proper gearing with a 72 or 74 tooth spur... that could be changed.

I also would like to know what BRUSHED motor to go with... I was thinking a d6 something or a v2 motor... that could be changed also.

As for the batteries i have some 3600 MAH fusion batteries.... They are nice but i was thinking of getting into LI-PO...

Does anyone know what type of suspension i should have set up here?? I'm planning on pretty much just running it on my local 1/4 mile asphault full scale racecar track. The track is around a 10% bank... ESTIMATE..

Tires and wheels?... Foams or rubbers...

Here's the question i need answered the most...
How do i put more cells on this thing.... i dont need to know where but i need to know how to wire more than six.. i'm thinking 2 6 packs or something.. Or can a gt7 do that? I have no clue about this..

brushless.... HMMM..
What is a good setup? I want something equivalent to a 6turn or 5 turn.. With a controller that can handle some crazy volts..

Most ESC's can't handle 12 cells like you were talking about. Most brushed motors can't handle it either.

Go to the brushless forum for suggestions on a BL setup. In the meantime, you could pick up a low turn (7-8 turn) Orion/Peak V2 motor, run it on 6 cells, and it would be very fast.

tc3

i have an orion 9turn double revolution with an lrp esc and 24 tooth motor pinion , 72 spur and 3300 mah batts.it hits 50mph without the body. trust me thats fast enough. and the orion motor just doesn't wear either. 20 packs and haven't done anything with brushes, etc and no dropoff in performance

Is the track an asphalt surface and will you be running an oval or onroad?
For oval you should be able to get close to 50mph with a 6cell pack, and motor in the 9-14 turn range, number of turns and winds would depend on traction conditions. In preparing car spend a little extra time fitting and polishing (kingpins, etc) ensuring parts work without binding and shimming to reduce play. For gears on a smooth surface 64pitch (wider gearing range than 48pitch, smooth and quieter) spurs 95 to possibly 112-115 (clearance may start to be a problem). Pinion size would vary with size of track and actual spur you selected. Tires - radials would offer better grip and less rolling resistance than foams on concrete or asphalt finding the right combination of compounds would be key. In pan car oval we normally ran 3 greens and orange net right front, with front being L, left rear narrowL, and right rear a R wide green.

If track is anything like this follow the link to oval racing, route 106 racepark (www.collectracing.com) you should be able to get close to 50mph easy once you find the right gearing.
