I got my 3.3 Jato 2 weeks ago and I love it. I plan to race mine on asphalt so I swapped the Anaconda wheels and tires for 2.2 Traxxas dish rims dyed black and mounted Proline Speedhawgs on them. I put super stiff foams in the rear and taped the center inside of the tire to prevent ballooning, and it seems to work well. I also lowered it and installed the stiffer black sway bars. The EZ Start was removed after break-in for a pull start to save weight, installed a Tinity RX pack, and Spektrum RX so I can use my DX3. I have to say this thing hauls! I have a single speed conversion I may install for race day but I want to try it out first. I have heard some people have had reliability problems ith Traxxas motors so we'll see how long this 3.3 lasts. But it has gobs of power, if I stab the throttle from a stand still it will spin the back tires for about 20 feet before it hooks up! I may have to use foams for racing, but I'm gonna try some traction compound first.

Brakes were great out of the box, I haven't even had to adjust them yet. I hear alot of peopl saying Traxxas is weak and cheap, but I have had really good luck with all of my Traxxas stuff(3 Maxx trucks and a Rustler). I smacked a curb with my Jato pretty high into 2nd gear when I lost traction. I fully expected to see parts flying when I did it, but to my surprise there was no damage. I have to say I'm impressed with the new Jato.

Rear Suspension
I'm tearing up rear tires on my Jato. It seems that the rear wheels are towed in pretty far. I checked other Jatos and they are the same way also. Does anybody know of any after market rear control arms that set them straight?

Here is a video of my Jato. When the video starts right click the image and click on show all. The image is smaller but the quality is better. I hope you all enjoy it.

Hope this Helps
Speedbump1, I don't think the contral arms will produce what you're looking for. As you know the Jato comes preset to 4 degrees toe in for the rear (can be set to 3 or 5 with optional part #5557). You should be able to adjust out to zero just by following the instructions on page 36 of your manual. I normally start out with 2 no more than 3 turns each side; then look at each wheel to see if they are toeing in or out then adjust accordingly. The traxxas page can provide some more info: http://www.traxxas.com/support/index...473&artlang=en
As for the wear and tear on the tires, hopefully you've upgraded to thicker rubber. The standard rear equipment goes pretty fast especially if you're burning donuts on the smooth pavement If you're running the 3.3, shear h.p. is going to wear those out. The rubber for the 3.3 is great on the 2.5
There are also 2.2 prolines and the new line from IMEX (2.8) that last much longer depending on your driving pref (on or off road). http://www.imexrc.com/jato.htm
If you go with IMEX you'll have to purchase their rims which aren't bad looking
I hope this helps

It's an RD Logics, it definitely improved high end performance. I had to richen it up quite a bit for it to run the way I wanted but my motor was just past break-in when I installed it. Low end didn't need any help at all. But I can tell a difference. But be warned, it will surely get your neighbors attention!! It is LOUD!!!!

Custom built tlt-1 rc crawler
hpi sprint
i think thats it, i paid for all of these with my own hard earend cash. every single one of them were tricked out, now its time for me to get back into it. i will be using the jato for construction site bashing and huge jumps. What should i expect out of the jato? Thanks

Well, I took second in the main yesterday and it was a great race. Only two of us on the lead lap at the end and we were neck and neck coming out of the last turn. My Jato had real bad traction problems and would just blaze the back tires coming ot of the turns, even with very little throttle and using traction compound. Looks like I'll be running foams next time. But it was fun!!

I tried the Speedhawgs and they just wouldn't hook up. I tried the Roadhawgs and they worked much better for me. I didn't like the way they wore, so now I am using Roadrage tires. They are the greatest this side of foams.

The stiffest Jato springs (blue) are 1.8 and you're going to 4.1/4.4? Too much. Use the 2.6 Revo springs. If they don't do the trick, nothing will. You don't want the suspension so solid that things break.
