New Touring Car: TC4 or XXXS?
I want to get a good touring car to just drive around on the street and at a few local parking lots. I've narrowed down my decision to the TC4 or the XXXS. I'm leaning towards the rtr versions since I'm only looking to spend around $300 and don't need to get a kit with graphite. The better electronics in the XXXS don't really matter since I'm just going to replace it with a brushless system as soon as I save up the money and I'm only looking at the chassis themselves. The XXXS has been out for a few years and I know Losi just released the JRX-S but I was wondering if it's still good or if the TC4's a lot better? Thanks.

I'm gonna be honest, I've never driven a XXX-S, but I own a TC4, and the car rocks! I have a Novak Brushless 5800 in it and it flies. I only drive it around parking lots and streets like you are going to, and it does fine, just make sure you have an extra set of tires because the stock ones seem to wear somewhat quickly, although it may just be my driving and setup.
The TC4 is newer, so parts will be easier to find and you'll probably find more help with setups and stuff on the net. I have never broken a thing on my TC4 yet and don't plan to. This thing is a tank!
Good luck with your decision!

The XXX-S's transmitter is definately a keeper compared to the bare-bones transmitter in the TC4. Both cars will fill your need for speed but if you do plan to go brushless, the TC4's shaft system may be a better choice for durability reasons. The XXXS's belts tend to skip under extreme braking and acceleration.

Good luck

Yeah if your running high power brushlss than the tc4 is the way to go for durability. Since it doesnt have belts skipping is not a possibility. It gets annoying when you have belts and it skips and acceleration is lost. Id go with the tc4.

I would go with the TC4, I no longer have that car since I have gone from on-roaf to off-road, but the TC4 is one sweet car in my opinion.

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to go with the TC4, but I'm just going to get the kit instead and save a little more to get the brushless at the same time.

My Novak 5800 powered TC4 hits about 40mph with 24/72 gearing.
