There shouldn't be. Anything in the owners manual on it? Does that have the set screw in the collet?

Rusted

The Ms.Bud I had didn't use a flex shaft it was a straight steel rod. If you haven't removed it it is more than likley rusted in the tube. I had to order a new shaft from the manufacture and all three they send me were rusted to the shaft when they arrived as well.

I allowed them to soak in a bath of WD-40 for a day and was able to get one of them to break loose. With the one still in the boat take a peice of water line or fuel line put it over the outer tube in the rear of the boat seal it with a nylon tie about a 6 inch peice. stand the boat on it's front end and fill the line with WD-40 let it sit for a day. Hopefully it will work it's way through the rust. If not you will have to replace the shaft and log and I would suggest you call the folks at proboat to verify the one they send you is not already rusted solid it took 3 different shipments for me to get one that was not rusted.

This is one of many reasons my Ms. bud is an X boat.
