Shippensburg Pa Track

I am building a track in Shippensburg, PA and I am in need of some imput. It is a banked clay oval / offroad track. The area designated for the track is 85 feet by 160 feet. I have 1,200 tons of clay so far for the development of the track. I bought a JCB Backhoe loader for moving the clay around, and for putting a 100 by 200 foot steel building over the track for year round racing by winter 2006. I am interested in your opinions about what jumping sections are the most popular with offroad guys. Also I built a drivers stand that has a 6.5' platform. I am just stumped on how to make this track a successful track that wont be closed in 2 years. My last tracks were indoor and outdoor onroad tracks and they didn't fare out well. Any suggestions, or anyone in the area interested in helping on making this track work. Thanks

I have a bunch of 1/8 scale buggy guys come by today to give input on the track. So far I have about a dozen of possible racers. It looks like this spring I may be able to get the races going, especially since I bought my AMB unit. A couple of excavation companies are giving me quotes for grading and rolling the track. Still need more input so please, any info is helpful... What would you like at your local tracks? Thanks

So far our plan is to run offroad Saturday and Oval Sunday, but the oval is up in the air, because no one will commit to the oval racing. We will try oval on Sundays for a month and if no one show or not enough show up we will race offroad both days. I am hopeful that we can have 2 good race days no matter what people race. If we have the oval we will race all types of vehicles on the oval, as all types for the offroad. Sorry for the delay to respond. We will be running nitro, gas (1/6 scale), and electric powered vehicles... we will also accomodate every type of vehicle regardless of engine size, and multiple speed transmission. We are about 30 minutes from Hanover, PA. Hope that was helpful. Keep checking my website for updates, and register for emailed updates. www.garlandsrccarland.com

We are racing on Fathers Day. We hope to see some 1/8 Buggies, Monsters, 1/10 Electric and Nitro Trucks and Buggies, as well as some 1/6 scale to get the class rolling. Anybody with a BAJA 5B come on out against the FG... lets see what you've got?

Racing has been pretty pathetic. I am probably going to take on a partner (financial or working) to put up the East Coasts Largest INDOOR GAS POWERED READY R/C TRACK. I see other tracks suceeding and I try to promote my track, but no improvements on turnouts. I mean as far as I know I have the largest Banked OVAL/OFFROAD track within 100 miles (160' by 85'). I treat my customers as good as I can, still no loyalty or interest. Before having a store of my own, I bought from other shops and was treated pretty crappy at some shops. I tried to give my business to shops that were decent to their customer base. Well who knows what this business has in store for me, but it is very rough now. People think that shops make a bunch of money on vehicles sales... not the case. I can't even get responses on a forum, that derives from a National Publication based on RADIO CONTROLLED VEHICLES... SAD... but I will keep trying until something gives.
