I Think

I tottaly agree that a fixed .raced out,1000 dollar kyosho anything is tough
BUT like earlier i was kinda refering to the RTR stuff --its rubbish or garbage in american.....
anyways i hope you have fun with it --
kyosho rtr stuff could be sold at toys-r-us its that crappy
and to get it the way you want it with all the add ons youd be better off just buying one that way ---used--

I'll let you know if I like my ST US when it comes in. I even plan to race it. Should get it next week. (I hope it doesn't perform better than my SP2, that would really bite.)

The Jammin RTR truggy isn't much more durable than the Kyosho IMO as there aren't much more alloy parts nor is it the 7075 alum. They both feature plastic shocks and other plastic parts. I romped around with my Kyosho RTR with no issue. The .28 is quite reliable too with the 30% byrons I've been running. It may be based of the 7.5 and not the 777, but that doesn't mean it's rubbish. I'll be running mine again this weekend and testing it out on some new terrain. Look at it this way the kit is designed to be raced and it has all the upgrades. Would you bash a $700 vehicle not to mention have to purchase engine, pipe, top notch servos to operate it? It will save in the longrun, but for future issues like runaways or crashes, I'd rather have an RTR run over instead of the Pro kit.

I plan on dropping in a couple extra digital servos I have as soon as I get the truggy. Also I will fill the diffs with fluid and check/tighten all the screws. I may just drop in my 2.4GHz Rx but that may be later.

the truggy is horribly stripped... there were lots of shortcuts when developing the RTR vehicle. There is also a good reason that this RTR doesn't sell well at all. The servos, engine... bogus. The steering is poor compared to the kit... the truck flat out sucks when compared to the standards of RTR truggies.

Ya get the Thunder tiger ST-1. Has good servo's out of the box and a fine engine!

rc411 with my xs3 radio the servo's definitly seem faster running via BEC(downed to 4.8v) on fast mode. compared to stock radio equipment. Stock steering servo is very good to.

110 ounces is NOT suffice for buggy or truggy. The engine is a tank (slug) and the servos are below par. Eric has yet to even have his finished break in. The only thing he has done is read the magazine, the ad, and now he's professional on the truck.

Buddy you don't need to own a vehicle for years to realized the electronics are good. I don't understand the issue with 110oz. They seem faster then my 645MG's. And turn the wheels easily on carpet. What is your problem? The motor isn't a slug either. Can you stop being such a sponsored big shot.

you are definitely dumb. 100% stupid. 110 ounces is terrible for a steering servo, let alone in a TRUGGY.

that engine is a DOG... Dee oh Gee. all its peak power is made before 20k rpm... its a low rpm engine, weak as hell.

Everyone knows that over 200 ounces of torque is suffice for a steering servo on a truggy. the 645 is an economy servo... strictly designed to use as a upgrade servo for electrics

nothing wrong with the oem servos on the thunder tiger st1? oh really? then why do people upgrade the engine and the servos? Its the most common upgrade on the Thunder Tiger ST1. People who use it on track will agree with me... there is no way you can compete with those.

Ok we can upgrade as we want. But out of the box they are MORE then sufficient. Ill bet I could compete on a track no problem. I would just need a better wheel combo.

-_- ....... Man you know a car with no powersteering??? When you move it is ALOT easier to turn. Now imagine you can turn the wheels on carpet NOT moving easily. Now if the vehicle was moving the wheels could turn even MORE easily. So I really can't figure out why it is not OK. Its not like u can not steer at all with stock servo's and they are plastic geared.

no one drives truggy on carpet lol. you gotta be kidding me. you might as well stop typing... the more you post, the less intelligent you really are.

You dont even know what on-power steering is? instead of turning with the throttle, you have to either coast or brake in the turns. Why? because that truck pushes like a tank. Take that thing in the dirt, where people actually drive truggy. you wont be able to turn sharp without being on the brakes or coasting through turns.

There is more friction on carpet then aspalt or a clay track do you realize that??? I guess you must race your vehicles without tuning any suspension or anything. You just go to the track 100% stock and whichever handled best is the absolute best truggy on earth........
