When good ideas meet bad paint-project magnum.

Well, this was on deck for Decembers concourse, I was transforming a protoform charger into a magnum wagon...had everything going good, until disaster struck. I am not sure what caused it, its the same exact paint i use for all my bodies, but wow, did the results go to heck. I dont know if it was a combination of the added material to make the wagon, or just bad luck,...the car was orginally going to have lights, wipers, ( functional) doors, ect...but now,...
i think we should just give it a proper burial.
Yes, the pictures are a touch grainy, i had to take them with flash off, or else the car turned blue...so i left it off to capture the real color. ( cheap digital camera)

Remember:even the best laid plans can be screwed up by me!

It's hard to tell from the photos what happened to the paint.
I love the concept of the conversion and it looks like it went well except for the paint.
Those wheels look killer with that body.

the body is awesome, but you can see that the paint is really blotchy, if i were you i would strip it and paint again and dotn forget to wash it. maybe you forgot to wash it after you did all the work on it (im now youre no way near a noob, but just suggesting, were not all perfect)

thats what i thought too....but i did wash it out. Funny thing, when i laid the candy down, it was all well, i laid 3 coats, then backed it in white,...THAT is when it all went downhill. I might strip it yet, we will see. This was my first attempt at really altering a body that far, so who knows,...maybe there will be a sequel.

z-man, think it may have been a reaction between the glue and the paint??? I know when I did the hood scoop on my charger, I had to paint the scoop completely seperate from the body, then glue it after all the paint had cured. Just a thought.

Other than that, I think the body looks awesome!!!

The magnum is definitely a hot looking car!!! I keep trying to talk my wife into letting me get one of the SRT8 magnums and throwing a custom paint job on it.

It would basically be the day hell freezes over that she would go for that though.
