Exhaust gaskets

Hey, guys, just wondering how important these gaskets are? I don't really feel like paying 20$ for one off ebay for an engine I don't care much about... it doesn't have much compression left and will probalby need a new piston/sleeve soon anyways. Will I notice a huge difference in performance if i run without the gasket?

thanks

you will just leak all over the place, dont use those gaskets anyhow, swing by your local auto parts store and pick up a tube of RTV silicone sealant (O2 sensor safe) and use t hat as a gasket, just apply some to the contacting face of the header and screw it on (not all the way) let it harden for a while and then go run it

thanks for the tip, i figured there must be other materials to use, i was thinking of even rubber from a bike inner tube, but that might melt too easily.
