HPI Firestorm - 1st Nitro RC
Well, after being a long-time electric user, I decided roughly one week ago that it was time to try out a nitro truck. Im only into offroad RC's, and wanted something affordable. Anyways, a friend suggested I find a used truck to save costs (this made sense to me because atleast i should be able to get my money out if i didnt like it). After searching through local classifieds for a few days finding not much aside from alot of beaters, I stumbled upon an HPI Firestorm.
I called the guy up and he said he had barely used it.... just broken it in and ran a few tanks.... that was an understatement. I went to look at it and was amazed at its condition... so I made him an offer. He was asking 175 but i got it for 150. The package deal included;
1 HPI Firestorm truck (with about ten scratches, original tires that were like new)
1 HPI Temp gun
1 Duratrax rechargable glow ignitor
1 Gallon of Trinity 20% Monster Horsepower fuel
1 Fuel filler bottle
1 Glow wrench
2 Glow plugs
1 Bottle of after run
1 Bottle of air filter oil
And i think thats it. Anyways, I took it home, set it back to factory carb settings to tune it myself, and WOW!!!! This truck is so fun!!!
The power on it is insane too... it pulled a few wheelies today when id be at half throttle and then punch it into full. Pretty sweet truck. Anways, this whole thing was sort of a rant and rave, but I finally see why people love the nitro trucks... I think my waiting for a battery to charge days are numbered....

Man I love nitro, every time I go out after it rains I can smell the sweet smell of burned nitro. It's like perfume to me. You're going to love nitro. With batteries you might get like 20mins from a pack. With nitro you can get like 10-15mins from a tank, and refilling takes like 5 seconds, even with the body on. I say get rid of electric and go nitro all the way.

I'm really glad you posted this thread I loved my xxx-nt may it RIP, and I had a buddy that had a firestorm and it was an awesome truck as well, I have another buddy thats always got a budget and hes looking at the firestorm ill make sure to have him check out your thread.
