hmm, actually looks like a reasonable set up for the price, whats more- the esc can handle up to 5s lipo so it may even pull off use in a 1/8 scale truck...never seen this set up before.

Only one way to test it out :P

take care,
Demon

No mamba as its lower kv but It's not a main car just something to avoid dealing with a brushed motor.

yea well, the KV rating doesnt mean particularly much - you want to go faster you add more volts or gear up - in theory a brushless motor has infinite torque so can pull any gearing as long as the cells are up to it.

Still, for a cheap system i would say go for it. but, if i where you i would pay the extra few bucks and go for a mamba system -at least you know it isnt gona blow with 5 mintues use.

take care,
Demon

That esc looks pretty large in that pic where it's shown in the guy's hand. It would be pretty tricky to mount that thing in a touring car. The numbers on the esc look pretty good too, but I wonder how well it performs (smoothness/cogging). Also with that low of a kv in an onroad car, you'd need to gear that motor to the moon to see really good speeds on 6 cells or 2s lipo, or else up the voltage to 3s or 4s lipo and hope the drivetrain holds up to the torque.

Nice.............. That's probably why it uses such a low kv motor.
