You can treat tires with GM or Chrysler top engine cleaner. Coat the tires and wipe with rag and let sit. It helps to use a heat gun and pre-heat tires before going on the track. With heat in the tires you will not be as loose the first couple laps.
With using the above tire traction, it will continue to soften the tires. Depending on heat, track bite, you might want to switch over to something less aggressive after a few runs. Ie stick-et, which Glenn can order.
Oval racing on a large track does not or should not require alot of steering.
Most at easley are running the wings mounted on the body.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the tire tips. Plan on running 09 this weekend. You recommend mounting the wing on the body and don't see how this can be done on an 09 body?

Paul-
I think that may have been for the electric cars. With gas as far as I know you have to go to the pod. I could be wrong though (it has happened before).
I would think at first you will want max grip. Bi-level wing mounted to the pod for .09 and then adjust from there.

There Is Plenty Of Room To Mount On Body On The 09. We Have Ran Them Both Ways On The Gas Cars Through The Years. The Body Seems To Be The Best Bet.

I am still alittle fuzzy on how to mount on body?? I have a set of dark side window mounts, do you try to offset the mount away from the hole for the ignitor and offset the wing in the opposite direction?

Paul you can use the Darkside mounts. You will have to offset them because the opening in the window for the motor head.
Be sure to offset them enough to not hit the head when they move. Mount one close to the Ridge in the window and space the other out equally to the other side.

You can run on the body for sure. Either way will work. pod or body. If you mount the wing on the body just make sure the left mount is moved over to the left enough to clear head when the pod moves. Unless it looks like rain, I am coming saturday after work. I hope to maybe run the last qual in .09.

Just to let everyone know,
The new updated website for Glenn's Hobby Corner is very near completion, along with a new racing home page that is dedicated to the track and the racing events held at Rosewood. All that needs to be done now is to go over some of the details about content on the site with Glenn and it will be online for everyone to view and use.
I have viewed it on a private host site and it is awesome. The work that went into the site, and the quality that was produced from this is jaw dropping. Sarah did a great job writing the HTML script and java apps. The site is going to have some really neat user interface. I can't wait till it goes online
