He has nice batteries that fit oh so nice into the mini's!! They're not the highest mh, but with the Johnson motor, high mh definatly are not needed.
I wish there were someway to get all the people I can hear outside right now blowing off fireworks and get them all together and have a killer show. Man, I miss the days of doing them on the base. Man, now that might be cool,, flying over the country on a plane on July 4th at night.

No, I don't think I have meg Ron. I have been living in Utah the last 5 years, and before that I was in Fayetteville. I am moving back in about two weeks. I did run with some guys there in parking lots and I raced one year at Sandhills Raceway, or I think that is what it was called.
I guess I will understand why that was so funny when I come out and meet everyone.

I hope there's plenty of head room! Can we plug fans in up there, Glenn?

As long as the water doesn't collect enough to get through the floor and drip down on to the computer and me,,,,
No not in military. Too large and time to join was a LONG time ago for me. But, worked on SJAFB at Outdoor rec and the Autoskills Development Center, and worked with the crew that did the fireworks on the base for like 10 years. Got 2 nieces and brother in law all in Army.

Had a good HOT day out there today. There is now a roof over the drivers stand! Definatly helped keep the sun off the drivers heads! Good legends group, with a class each of LTO's, Sportsman Truck, and Touring to go along with them. See you all again next week!!

Maybe it will be cooler next Saturday. Us old folks can't handle the heat like you youngsters can! Any pics of the new and improved Grande Stand?

Going to try and make it this Saturday. Air Conditioned pit room? The Hot Dog room? We're gonna be a little tight in there if we have a big crowd! LOL!

We had about 6 drivers and their bags and friends and family in the hot dog room and had some room for 3 or 4 more. Any more than that and it would be way to crowded.

I go to the Birds usually on Tues. That makes it 5 nights, figure with room and the friggin taxes, say 100 a night. Get someone to split with you and it gets lots better. Hopefully I'll be able to go again in Jan. Depends on money and where I'll be at the time,,,,

Ron will be leaving soon and Rosewood is looking for a replacement race caller. I know we can take turns calling but i need someone to operate the pc, load the drivers, check them and call races etc. This person will have to be there every saturday. I know Ron has'nt gone yet but i want to get someone trained so when he does leave we don't have to jump through hoops. Ron will be wearing cowboy boots, hat and big belt buckel soon. He has called races at Rosewood since 92 i think. Anyway, get with me asap for the job. I prefer someone that races so we can trade racing and cash for calling races.

Well, if and WHEN it happens will be like the end of Nov. early Dec. It should be in the Temple, Killeen area, somewhere in the Ft. Hood area.
The only R/C I've seen when I've been there is two off-road 1/8 tracks. One in town, one aways down the highway. Haven't seen any drivers at either place though, so I don't know if they race or not.
Running the 'puter is not that hard, it's when it starts to think for itself, that's when things can get weird. When I started running it, Glenn was using TrackMate software (DOS!) then when those transponders started dieing and they couldn't get fixed, he went to AuotScore (DOS too!) and then upgraded to whats up there now, AutoScore (Windows!). Whoever does end up running the computer will have a lot easier time learning it than I did way back when. It DOS, not MS dos, like windows 3.1, I mean straight DOS! The way it is now is SO much easier than then.
Man, have I really been doing the race calling that long??
