earthquake!!!!
had a 5.8 earthquake about 45 minutes ago. it was probably down to about a 3.somethin by the time it got here. shook everything, but not enough to break anything or knock anything off shelf's (at least around here, idk about LA yet) . scared the hell out of dog. stupid dog tried to jump into the window to look out to see what's going on, i grab her collar, got it with one finger, tell her no, she turns and try's to hide under me. twisted the hell out of my arm.
we hadn't had one of those in a while. kinda fun in a scary sorda way. lol

I heard about that on the radio...
Earthquake rocks LA
A magnitude-5.4 earthquake has struck just east of Los Angeles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake's epicenter was about 2 miles southwest of Chino Hills and about 5 miles southeast of Diamond Bar, the USGS said. Chino Hills is about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
The center was about 7.6 miles deep. In general, earthquakes centered closer to the Earth's surface produce stronger shaking and can cause more damage than those further underground.

LOL:
CNN's Ed Lavandera was at Disneyland in Anaheim, southeast of Los Angeles, with his family and felt the tremor. He said the shaking lasted about 5 seconds.
CNN affiliate KABC is reporting that Disneyland's rides have been evacuated.
Lavandera was standing in line for a ride when he saw the ride's top "shaking back and forth."
You could hear the metal kind of clanging around, and the ride was just ending, so for a moment ... I thought maybe something was wrong with the ride. Then I realized the ride had already stopped moving and the ground was still moving," he said.

i was at work when it happened. i was in the stock room doing inventory and the wall started shaking. i thought a truck had hit the it (its happened before) so i started heading for the door to see what's going on. i got about 2 steps and v-tec kicked in, the shaking got worse. by the time i got to the doorway it had stopped. it wasn't very big, it just freaked people out more than anything. a few stores had to close for a few hours for clean up. i think that was the worst of it.

you could hear it coming. i was in the parking lot at work and i started hearing what i can only describe as a prolonged "thud" getting louder and louder. i had enough time to think, what is that and where is it coming from? before the ground started moving. oh, that's what that is.
