New and wanna build

I am new to the nitro trucks. I saw in a magizine where someone was talking about building one. They said its the best way to get to know your truck. I wanna build some kind of truck but I'm not real sure what, or how, or anything else as far as that goes. I have a XTM Outlaw and thought about redoing it maybe but I'm not sure. Any advice would be appericated. Thanks

You need to be more specific,Like what do you plan on
doing with what you want to build,do you plan to race
or bash,or just running it in the yard?
Or what kind of ride,Stadium truck, monster truck,
shortcoarce truck,1/10,1/8,maybe a street car,you
need to know what you would like to build or run,
also the brushless models are good.Oh,

What you want is a kit. You can search Tower and see if you can find a kit you like, but the amount of nitro kits available is pretty low. I can think of three worth buying off the top of me head: NTC3, RC10GT2, HPI Savage X 4.6

cbaker you asked about what i want to do with what i build. I dont really have any tracks close to me to race on. the most i would do with it would be bash around the yard, up and down the hills around my house and other stuff like that. i'm not gonna be real pickey as far as what type just as longas it has some ground clearence. it doesnt have to be a monster truck like i said this is my first one to build, and i just want something simple to start with. then i will go from there.

It's a shame, nitro kits are really coming few and far between. Aside from the Savage and a few SC trucks and 1/8 buggies, there's just not a lot out there. Highly recommend the savage though. Great truck!

Depends on which one you get. I listed them in order of easiest to build. The NTC3 just practically builds itself, the GT2 is only a schmidge trickier than that, and the Savage is a 4WD two-speed monster truck with a non-standard chassis so it will take a while. They're all provided with excellent instructions though, so if you've got the mechanical knowhow to build one of them you can build all of them. The Savage kit is also a bit more complete, seeing as it comes with a suitable engine and exhaust right in the box. All you need to supply to get it going is fuel, glow ignitor, servos and a radio.

Most Kits these days come with the parts in seperate bags so you build one section at a time wich is a great idea and really hard to screw up and with the excelent manuals that come along with most kits you shouldn't get into any trouble.
If you do have any problems theres plenty of well learned RC Nutters right here to help.
