Hi everyone, I have a XX-4 World's Edition on order, I can't wait to build and run it, I plan on running a Novak brushless setup, and a Spektrum radio. I just have one question. I read a review stating that the XX-4 servo mounts are not designed to fit newer Hitec servos. I'd prefer to buy a servo that fits the mounts properly, would servos from say, JR, or Airtronics work? What servos do people on here generally use?

i use Hitec, you should be fine. Id say try to fit the servo, if it doesnt work get a good servo from futaba or airtronics.

Sorry if this has been brought up, but I don't have time to read twenty pages. Does anyone know where I can get RPM arms for my XX4?

Since the XX4 has been recently re-released, I thought I'd show a couple of pics of my XX4's w/ the Losi Class 8 truck body...
this one is my "beater" for practicing and thrashing about :
this one is my "works" truck w/ all of the goodies:

Ok Got a problem
I have a xx4 Graphite Plus, No Thats NOt My Problem for all you Smart ass AE Drivers . Ok Anyway on to the problem. I have built and rebuilt tis thing about 6 timesnow and when I get it all set I get a Battery in it ANd I put it on theground It sounds like something is grinding . I thought it was the spur gear It might have been a lil to big ( went from a 84t to an 88t ) but its not !
Ok I am gonna try to give you guys as much info on what I did to it !
1- I took it apart and inspected all belts and drive gears. I even Installed New ones ( belts and Gears ) None are worn or missing teeth or anything like that.
2- Checked all bearing that hold Idle shaft , Oneway and spur gear Bearing, All diff brearings and Carriers,
3- I have oiled and greased alll moving parts Percisely to the Instructions .
I am not new to this Hobby But This is bothering me and I cannot seem to figure this lil Problem out.
I have taken all the time to slowly manually Move belts whe there installed trying to listen real careful to alll gears and bearings they make no sound . I put the cover on the belt channel and for some reason the clicking ( not the one way Clicker) starts.
Ok I will explaine what i mean by Clicking as well as I can.
You remember when you were young and you put a baseball card in your spokes to get hat Sound Its a very Light sound just like that but Its only when i have the Car together and sittin on the ground. I hit the Throttle nice and slow and it starts BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR is the sound.
I thought It might have been a Flat spot on the spur gear But No thats NOt it ( installed a new Spur gear Many times .
I would appreciate any help or Ideas that anyone MIght have for me to check It just started This wed. And I cannot track it down or fix it
Thyank you for anyone that Helps out On this problem I have the car in peices on the work bench so I will try anything you post Within reason !

Hey, guys.
I have an XX4 and I THINK it's a worlds edition. I bought it used a while back and never actually ran it. I think it's a complete car except for a few small parts. So I have a question for you guys. I've always been an associated guy and never really ran losi. I've had about 10 AE cars and this is my first losi and as I mentioned, I've never ran in, built a losi, or taken one apart. So honestly I don't know if it's 100% complete or what. So I am wondering if I should sell it and get one that I know is a solid piece, or if I should put money into rebuilding this. I am very @nal rententive about having everything built right from the beginning be it differentials, shocks, transmissions, etc and I really don't know how it was built. So do you guys think I'd be better off re-building this thing, or selling it and getting a used, but 100% ready rolling chassis? I know it's kind of a stupid question because it's a decision I have to make on my own, but I guess I'd like to hear your opinions. Thanks, guys

Jeff - not sure what you ultimately did with the XX4, but I'm always wary about buying a used 4wd car. It may end up costing you more in the end to restore it to the condition you want it in than to just buy a new XX4-WE kit.

Hey, Chris. I bought what I needed to restore it. I just needed a few pieces. Right now I'm waiting on a screw kit to rebuild it. It should be super nice when it's done. I thinnk I spent about $100 on it total including a new body, wing, wheels, tires, spare gear, etc. So it wasn't too bad. Thanks.

I think you'll find the XX4 to be a bit more durable and handle the rough stuff a bit better. It's downfall is it's more difficult to work on and more time consuming to fix drive train issues.
The XXX4 has awesome acceleration with the single belt drive train - absolutely takes off like a rocket ship. It's far easier to work on and takes batteries built in a standard style rather than saddle packs. Some people feel it's a bit more "fragile" than the XX4 and doesn't go through the rough stuff as well. I think the car can handle pretty well if you get a good setup on it. It might depend alot on what type of track you run on as to what car you want to get.

maybe you rounded out the front clicker...
you ever give that a check...
do a load test on it. take out the rear belt.
put the front wheels on the ground..
and blip the throttle..
if the front end dosent turn and you hear that noise. its the clicker..
you should always have your silipper properly adjusted
