I second that. Even with Robinson racing upgrades. SHREDDED Diffs anyone? Not to mention the sorry plastics telescoping drive shafts that will twist int Licorice Twizzlers. Goof Idea, bad approach. RC alloys has machinists right? Why not come up with their own drive train? Maybe even patent it, and sell these beast as kits. No they are just looking to show off at Texas Thunder ( As would I if I made that Killer, but not with MAXX diffs).

im sure theyll come up with some sort of original drive shaft. right now if you look closley you see he is using mips whitch are pretty week come to think about it. t-maxx diffs can be strong...but that is when there are no stock traxxas parts. some rrp gears an aluminum diffcase kippster diffcups and hardend spider gears and well you got some durable stuff on there. although with all that you end up twisting steal

Extremetmaxxer please tell who makes or where to get hardened spider gears for the MAXX. I haven't driven mine in over a month due the spiders blowing out. The 21 is too much for them, so i know the 160 would wreck them fast. Thanks

Guys, RC Alloys makes 5/16" dia. shafts that work with MIP parts. They're BEEFY. The Maxx diffs will hold up. Between Kippster 7075 diff cups and hardened ring and spider gears, the power should get put to the ground.
The next weakest point are the Jugg wheels. With all that torque applied to 5 little 4mm nipples on the wheel, that's going to be interesting!
I'm sure it's going to be a pretty cool truck once finished.

I can't wait for Thunder 4. I might make a dual 90 EK4 to kill the competition.

When is someone going to hook up this engine in a MT, 7.5 HP @14,000 rpm.
the only thing is its water cooled. not to big of a problem considering ppl have built water cooling systems in their trucks. but it would be insane

Extremetmaxxer, here is the site where I saw the engine. It did not give diminsions but you can e-mail them and ask. If you decide to do somthing with this engine I want to hear about it. the engine is kinda pricey but it will be worth it not havin to buy nitro. let us know your Ideas
and by the way what exactly Is the thunder event is it a show or a race or what? I dont race and iv never been to one (no local Track) im just a backyard basher. But iv been hearin about the texas thunder event. When and where exactly will it be? iv heard mansfeild sometime in april.

Y not just buy a 1/4 scale and get the 70 cc hopup engine 4 it. The little trucks can't handle engines that are too big.

I don't like the idea that the engine is only rated 2HP max, and 11,000RPM max RPM. That doesn't seem so special. I mean sure it reaches 2HP a lot sooner than the 70, or 21's , but come on. We are sacrificing so much RPM. It was bad enough the 70 maxes out at 18,000 RPM.

thats 2 hp like in a lawn mower engine. its very very real horse power and mabey a wee bit under
also you get insane tourque and the awsome sound of dual thumping.

The difference is the Torque. There is no comparison with the torque. You just gear it differently to still achieve some speed. Best way to get all out speed though is rpm. Thats why i stick with two strokers Plus i like the sound of a 2 stroker better. Just my opinion though.

extremetmaxxer you may want to check out these engines before you do any more schemeing they may be more usefull. no water cooling. and you guys that dont think this can be done, of coarse the gears would strip and the wheels would snap off of a T maxx, ek4, ect. these trucks were not made for this kind of ridiculous power. but if you start building a truck that is, it will work. I agree that it is to much for a 1/10 but it is perfect for a 1/8 or 1/6 monster.

I like the one with the 55 pounds of thrust. I'd strap that into a 1/4 scale and hurt someone.
